Oh no, its razed. The whole idea here is that I DON'T want to get into a long protracted war with Bacchus over this stupid channel!

lol, what the heck man. Why would I be paying you not to take your island city? Do the people there smell?
Couldn't see the situation, as Fintourist paused the game and got me stuck behind a window. But, needless to say, this ain't happening.
ARrgh, I got boned by the reload. When I logged in before the reload, I could see that I just needed a very tiny sliver of commerce to 1-turn Alpha; when I logged in this time, I could see I needed more than that. Why?
I thought you guys said this couldn't happen!!! Annoyingly, the city was only 1 turn off from finishing its Barracks. 6.6% chance of revolt my ass... Also annoying is that now my ice city won't be able to finish a sword in time to join the attack. Bacchus whipped an axe up there last turn, which means it was already in the queue. Although Its likely the city will regrow within the next turn or two, I'm gonna sit my boats on his clams, next turn and the turn after, respectively. He'll be able, at most, to get one more unit up there. That's probably more than I can handle with my current platoon, so I guess we'll be seems like we'll be at war for a little while longer before I muster enough offense to take down that city. Still 1-turning Alpha with a minor bit of tile shuffling. Zoo is lookin' real nice now: Will have some workers replace the mines with cottages once the forge is done. The forge is only worth 1 happy now, as Xenu cancelled our spices for gold trade last turn as he has his own spices now. Turns out he also has two golds. =/ TBS popped his third-ring borders in Fallenstar Lakes and second-ring borders Basilisk Caves, so he's officially got a long-term target on his head. Ironically, I'm subbing for him in PB19 this week while he's on vacation, and he's subbing for me in maybe PB20 or my other offsite steamworks pitboss game the two weeks after that, while I'm on my honeymoon, so any actual hostilities will have to wait a bit...
The city tile has Community culture on it, the iron tile does not.

Why would the city tile have Community culture but not the Iron? I thought you said that cross-continental culture would only extend as far as a city's BFC?
No, that's not what I said. I guess the original statement can be ambiguous now that I read it again.

I guess it would be more concise to say it as:
A city will only generate culture on tiles that are in the BFC of any tile on the same continent.

T114. Offered open borders to Oxy, HAK, and, newly met, Yuri, via an exploring Axeman just NE of the city I razed from Bacchus. He's apparently been at war with Bacchus three times now, and so I think we'll get along just fine.
Demos are a bit concerning in a few categories, even as others look nice. Look at that GNP, YOWZA! MFG also looks very good. Someone might be in a golden age - I know someone just ended theres, b/c the insane 208 MFG from a few turns ago is gone now - but its hard to imagine someone having a GNP that high normally, unless its dtay with his crazy fucking shrine. The CY, population, and land area maxes are unreal though, sooooo much higher than ours. Shuffled tiles a bit in Zoo to get a 1T scout out in preparation for a galley whip in Clambake next turn, in order to scout the southern continent - really hoping Oxy gives us open borders. There's some civs out there that I'd really like the KTB from, such as BGN (now equipped with TGL ), dtay, Finharry, and WilliamLP. (who is apparently near HAK's continent, as the diplo screen reveals they are at war) In other international news, Krovice's crazy whips last turn were probably due to finishing the horcher quest, that makes you build a bunch of stables in return for a bunch of horchers or +1 food in every stable. I wonder which they chose, either option is pretty good. In SP games I always picked the food, although I bet the untis are better in Pitboss. Forge in Zoo ready in 6 turns. More swordsmen coming from PP&P. (I need to remember to rename Pegasus - Jimmy resigned from Team Liquid a few days ago, and is back to calling himself Demon again. RIP Team USA. ). I should be ready to attack T120, with 4 swords, an axe, and two spears. His city was still size 1 this turn, so hopefully, as long as it doesnt grow next turn either, the most I'll have to face is the CGIII Archer and the unpromoted Axeman. I think I should still have enough even if he gets another archer, though. I can also whip a swordsman in Skating Rink, as miserable as that would be. |
