Asoka of Sumer is the best pick, though even it still leaves value on the table by not picking the best trait.
Pericles of Egypt is the next best. Good civ and an OK leader. Creative and Obelisks step on each other's toes, but that's not a big deal, you can just ignore the Obelisk part of Egypt for the most part. Bismarck of Byzantium is not terrible because Bismarck is good. But Byzantium is a pretty big self-imposed handicap. Brennus of Ottomans is pretty bad. CHA is just not up to par. Wang Kon of Mali is very bad. PRO is next to useless. Of course, there isn't a rule that you have to go for the best available picks. You can also do what you think will be fun. The fact that they went to the trouble to ban FIN but then hardly picked EXP at all is eyebrow-raising though.
Well, monuments suck anyway so I'm not even sure that CRE/Obelisks can be said to have anti-synergy.
Even though this is a normal speed game, I expect it to be slow starting with those traits. 1 CRE, 1 EXP. Which plays into Asoka quite well, really. Me, I'd have given some thought to Hammy of Zulu with the slightly nerfed EXP and completed fucked FIN/PRO pairing.
Sigh, Jowy.
In other news, can I just say how much I appreciate all five players coordinating on the colors? No clashing at all!

I am realy surprised how bad some people consider org(saying meh about it) and how good spi or cha(and i think i sthat cha with 1 hapines and one from monument),they must play tottaly diferent game,if i should choose between spi/cha or just org i will choose org.
FWIW I'd have wanted the sign removed too. I mean, how else can I plant my own sign on every single tile?
Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon (August 26th, 2014, 11:31)mackoti Wrote: I am realy surprised how bad some people consider org(saying meh about it) and how good spi or cha(and i think i sthat cha with 1 hapines and one from monument),they must play tottaly diferent game,if i should choose between spi/cha or just org i will choose org. I found that strange too. My theory is that people don't value savings as much as bonuses. I wonder if people would like Organized more if the Civic saving portion of the trait says this instead: "Start with a Shrine in your capital that grants you gold equal to half of your Civic Costs, not affected by gold multipliers."
