RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Gandhi of Korea (Broker33 & plako)

Have you asked Whosit what the price for peace is?
Reply

I haven't asked for peace yet. I'd like to hear comment from Broker before doing that, but maybe it is time to ask, if he is intrested.

The Island in question could hold 3 cities - 2 would be top quality (we've already 1 city there) and 1 filler city. There seems to be another island SE that we could try to settle also unless someone gets there before us.

Naturally we will have 0 chance on winning this, but we could become relevant sea power over time and maybe assist someone attacking Whosit when the time comes. Great Lighthouse would be awesome, but I doubt we've a chance to get it.

Why do you want a second galley ?
Do you think it would be needed to evacuate everyone at the same time ?
Do you plan to evacuate army to save it for island defence or entrenched in the city to force Rome to move with full force ?
Also, if/when Rome has sailing, do you have any hope of holding the island (you will need a good local superiority -at least 2axe for each preat- to be able to kill a preat landing)

2nd Galley could be used to block Seoul. If we go to the island, we had to have relevant sea power so that Whosit can't immediately just whip 1 galley and start sending Praets over to our island.

On defense we would had to hope we get to Construction fast enough. Hwacha's are good on defense against Praets. Slight problem is that we need several of them before they start to give enough collateral damage.

The escape plan is interesting, but if you're willing to give up on the mainland why not at least get a NAP out of it? (Not to mention you could perhaps get to keep a city on the mainland, or at least some settling rights).

Thanks for the piccie. smile My eyesight/target recognition is a bit wonky - is that 2 fish resources around Pusan?

If you do go for the island, I wonder how MC would compare to construction as a tech choice? Forges, Colossus (with copper) and triremes?

Hmmm. MC is possibly a good idea. We could keep Whosit under control with Triremes and Colossus+Forges would certainly be very helpful. There is Fish and Crab around Pusan

I sent a message to Whosit asking if he is intrested in peace. It was general question asking terms from him. I didn't suggest anything myself.

You could block Seoul with 2 galleys, but Wonsan will need 3 and you don't even know (from the mini-map) if Rome has any other coastal cities further away.
So while having 2 will prevent Rome from going immediatly after the island (they also need the city to stop revolting and have enough pop to whip galleys, so you have a bit of time imho), trying to do a galley-galley war with inferior production will be a losing prospect

The idea is that he can't load the Galley in Seoul and drop the cargo on the island in 1 turn. He takes a risk to lose Galley and troops in it, if he comes further away.

I'm not yet sure, if fleeing is our best alternative.

Their remaining forces outside of France rallied and continued to fight until the end of the war. The bulk of their naval forces escaped to fight another day (although most were eventually scuttled to prevent capture). The French resistance launched a coup d'etat against the vichy regime in Algiers, paving the way for the allied North Africa campaign which in turn paved the way for the allied invasions of Sicily and then Italy, and the eventual liberation of France.
