No comment yet, as I'm interested in seeing how the players make their picks and how much they actually listen to their mentors versus how much they'd rather just do their own thing.
[NO PLAYERS]Here's lurking at you, kid.

As for answering the question as it was intended I've got to give the best chance to Dreylin and Whosit simply because they've been around this forum and presumably following games the longest. If they have an edge in games viewed that should give them a knowledge advantage, if they've been learning while watching. I don't know where most of these other players came from, but if any of them have a lot of experience playing elsewhere it won't take long to manifest. It may well be that one of these other guys has been a more active player for longer, just doing it somewhere else. Anyway, my prediction goes on the basis of: Best chance to win goes to whoever turns out to be the most experienced, combined with their proximity to the greenest, most snackable neighbor. Also, map update?

Being around doesn't mean you read game threads ![]() I love this game concept, but I'll feel bad if someone's pro fades away like dedicated lurkers and teammates often tend to do.
final map
there it is. someone else can go and randomize teh starts and post the screenshots, I'm going to be busy for a couple of days.
I did a version compare of the map files, looks like Krill added a marble, swapped an aluminum for stone, swapped a marble hill for plains wine, swapped a plains wine for marble hill, added two more aluminum, swapped marble for stone, added another stone, added another aluminum, and swapped around a forest and coal tile. So he did some further balancing work it looks like.
For map reference I just rolled a random.org list to assign player locations: Random.org Wrote:There were 7 items in your list. Here they are in random order: So in the map file that will be: Code: Team=0 - Whosit/Gavagai And then I guess snake pick order would be the reverse of that (I think we've done that before where whoever is first pick in the snake goes last in turn order?) So the pick list would go: Snake Pick Order Wrote:1. Dreylin/Ipecac/Ruff I'll start putting together screenshots and then post this stuff in the tech thread. Thanks for building the map, Krill. The colors will change after the players pick their civs, but here's the layout:

Just noticed Whosit's start location isn't on fresh water. We'll need to edit in a river along one of those tile before shipping the production map.
Edit: I assume it's fair game to tell him to expect fresh water in his civ/leader planning. I'm going to do that in a few minutes unless someone can say why that shouldn't be done. Edit2: I went ahead and posted in Whosit's thread that he'll get a river drawn onto one of the tiles adjacent to the capital. Whoever does the subsequent save file updates after the picking phase will need to do that.
