You can't be serious. Are you telling me you specifically didn't want one player to start on fresh water? If so by all means correct me in Whosit's thread.

You'll have to forgive me for interpreting your post in the most negative way possible, given the appearance of the angry face.

I'm not bothered in the slightest. neenerneener

Regarding OH's question from the test thread: I haven't loaded the save, but the mapscript is Torusland, right? I say that because there's what seems to be a scattered-improvement cottage shown in Caledorn's starting screenshot; if that information is shown to him, it should be told to everyone, right?

It doesn't matter, really. They know the dimensions and the wrap so they can build their sandboxes accurately. I don't think they have to know before picking what the script is. If they discover it while playing I really don't see how that confers any additional advantage either, except maybe to prioritize scouting a bit more so they can pillage some free tile improvements if they decide that's a strategic priority.

Why so long, by the way? Squarer would make sense to me...
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Squarer actually makes the maps worse, at least in the sense they are a bitch to make balanced. Look at how many neighbours each start has over land and then over sea, and think of how different that tends to be on square maps. It also helps to create different areas of the map that there are different levels of competition for.
