Why the banghead ?

My understanding would be that it would be split down the middle with all the CoW in one half of the turn and Spulla in the other half.

Still (somewhat) bitter about the war rules being changed on us in the middle of the game.

I'm not really THAT bitter, just tweaking....

That was my understanding too.

IIRC there was never a vote about how turns should be played during war (only that stupid double move rule), hence the differing assumptions (PB1 vs Poly rules).

Anyhow, I'm sure that an independent game admin would have decided against whichever option you wanted anyway :neenernee

Yes I'm sure that they would have too. But at least that would have been more palatable.

And there was a vote - we were forced into a 12-12 turn split by majority vote, when the rules of this game as agreed to at the beginning did not include such a mechanism.

In the end, it's fine - I guess I just like to complain lol

Had to do a doubletake when I realized (re-remembered?) that DMOC / Nakor are part of CoW. It seems like they would be the ones with the least to gain out of that, or perhaps I am just falling victim to the spullla propaganda?

I think Rome has the least to gain. Their economy is in the tank, and have tons of room to expand into. Instead of building several galleys and waging war they could be shoring up their economy and starting to seriously expand.

DMOC/Nakor don't have too much to gain either, except knocking India down a notch or two. I'd say they have the best backstab candidate opportunity within the CoW. Not too much to gain from the war, but imagine the benefits from striking at Dantski or Whosit during the conflict. Whosit mentioning his alliance "Bloc" makes this even smarter. They may be too honorable for this kind of treachery, though.
