Ok I changed it to warrior then, it gets us an early warrior for defense/scouting and more hammers overall. Nice optimization !

Yeah, I was surprised by the prioritizing hammers on the warrior build but I'll trust you on that.

Turn played. It's probably due to our limited knowledge of the land, but for now it's divided between the food-only west

Next two turns the scout is going SE before starting to scout again. We probably won't want to expand east too soon if there's nothing great near the wine.

Hmmm, I thought the scout was going to go up and investigate the rice - you've got a limited amount of time before barbs start to appear, so moving him back into your borders before they are everywhere is a bit of a wasted opportunity.

I guess you want to wait until Calendar/Monarchy to build those cities in the east... Its still a bit early to start dotmapping though.

Oh I thought you meant scouting the east when you talked about doubling back... Well now that he's here it's either NNW NNE or SE, which do you think is best ?

Given that the eastern cities need much later techs I'd want to know what is around the cows, rice and that hamlet. It's possible that your second or third city could share those cows and work the hamlet to get you a nice early commerce boost (is it a 2-1-3 tile?)

It's a 2/1/2 for now because the forest neglects the river bonus. So NNW next turn, then NW again. I'm not sure why I went NE towards the cap, for some reason I was certain we had discussed this and come to this conclusion. I definitely need some rest.

Let's look at the numbers this turn, there was an average rise of 1k soldier points this turn with our rivals, and half of them got a tech (no way someone grew, max food beside us is 5 and pop is still 1k for everyone). It's either all 2k techs or 1 wheel 1 2k tech and 1 0k tech. I don't see why someone would go wheel first : Caledorn is Myst/Hunt and I'd find it unlikely for him to go wheel first, he'll need to give his workers stuff to do soon and hunt only won't cut it. Agent is Agri/Hunt but going wheel first for access to Pottery (when he can already research AH) before going mining->BW seems odd. Elum is also Agri/Hunt so same here.
So I'm pretty sure they all went for a 2k tech, which can be hunting mining or AH. They have hunting and can't possibly have researched AH already so they all went for mining.

Nice work. I have a habit of grabbing a shot of the demos every turn just in case I want to go back and figure stuff out later on. Are you planning to keep doing C&D?
