[Spoilers PB23] Old Harry's attempt at civilizing AdrienIer

Ooops, I assumed a Settler was the next build in Qunum, sorry. The reason I'm so keen on site 5 is to share that corn and let Qunum work other tiles when it doesn't want to grow. Of course if you settle a city to share the pigs that does the job too... Anyway how long before you settle maybe? You need more happy!

Also city A can share the pigs, get a quick Barracks chopped and get the sheep in borders so that a city W of the gems could use them. I was thinking A would be a commerce city though. Hmmm.

Presumably the warrior goes SW next turn?

Yeah that's the plan. There's also a barb warrior just outside of Maserus, our warrior has +60% so it should be alright, but I won't exclude the fact that we may lose another low odds battle.

New development in the south :

I have no clue where to go next turn. West is interesting, there's a pasture to pillage 2NW, and I really want to have a look at what's SE for the future gems spot. 2W of the gems looks nice (using the sheep as an early grower while chopping a barrack/library), but I'd like some more info.

A nice little quest that I will never achieve.

Lots of barbarians show up in this game, I new I took a small risk by sending a warrior south to explore but these guys are more annoying than I thought. If the northern one advances towards Qunum I'll have to send the warrior at Lobambus to defend the cap, making Lobambus angry (Qunum's unhappiness will leave next turn, without the barbs I wouldn't need to put any soldier in there).

Because I'm on holiday (minus an english exam that I don't care about) I'm feeling happy. So here's an overview of the glorious Roman Empire (I just whipped 3 pops, hence the last place in score, it won't last).

First off, the north.

The southwest.

The east.

The southeast.

And the south.

Numbers are the planned order in which cities will be settled, although it's subject to change, especially 4 which might turn into 6. The x in the east is a sign of the hole in the mountain pass, a city there eventually would be very useful. Unfortunately I don't have a precise eta on the next settler, warriors are needed before that, and workers too. Qunum will produce its granary this turn, a warrior next turn with the overflow and will then start a settler. Lobambus will put the overflow into a worker then grow into a warrior then finish the worker. It's all unsimmed which saddens me, but with more free time ahead of me I'll probably be able to do it soon. After giving it some thought I decided not to finish the road on the copper, it's one turn from completion but I need MP right now and have no threat around except barb warriors. I'll road it when they'll start turning into archers.

They'll turn into axes before archers, in sp the AIs all start with archery so barbs research it early. I doubt anyone went for archery before BW here though.

I don't think I can fault your dotmap. 3 is backlines but such a strong site that you want it early. I was trying to suss out how to get gems online earlier, but as you have it looks good to me.

Settler from lobambus now? It shouldn't build workers with so much food. Leave that to qunum.

So you think I should switch the settler from Qunum (after next turn's warrior) and Lobambus's worker ? I don't mind doing that.

Q can donate the cow and work hammer tiles (got a mine yet?) for exp bonus, while L could whip a worker, but should stick to settlers if you're slowbuilding.

it might affect which city is easiest to settle next though.

No mine because with the missing worker I had to get other things up, like the two cottages in Qunum. There's one turn into a chop SE of Qunum though, I think the worker currently N of Qunum will go there next turn.

We're waiting on Whosit to play, he's been in twice during this turn now, once at the beginning and once in the middle, I don't understand why you'd delay playing the turn so much.
