[SPOILERS] Donovan Zoi and AdrienIer: Slümhund Millionaires!

I just got enough time to sim before sleep : it's pretty good. Stonehenge t38, this is the turn after that, I put a chop into a FW in Bombay so while the warrior is getting built slowly there's also a FW at 31/60 in there.

Turn 10 - 3600 BC

Sorry for the lack of reporting lately, but work has been a bit hectic. Here's the latest:

1. Our scout survived a Panther attack last turn (now 0.8/1) but still managed to locate new sources of Marble and Gold! This is great news for us as Industrious since it grants us a huge build advantage on both Stone and Marble wonders once we are able to connect them. The Gold is a nice surprise after locating Gems, and connecting both will add 4 happiness to each city with a cheap Forge. Not to mention the added commerce each will bring to revive our slow tech start.

2. As I predicted earlier, Grimace led with the religion path and founded Buddhism.

3. I checked out our Esionage stats with Joey, and it reads 20/4 in our favor. So not only has Joey met another player, but has devoted all points to that player ever since. Commodore? Gavagai? Rattrap? shifty

I think there's a good case for founding the NE Gems city first, followed by the Fish site. If we get the Gold site fourth, it will cut down research time considerably when we go for MC and/or the boating techs. I am hoping that there is a resource or two in the center fog east of the capital. We'll find out next turn....

Ok that's pretty good. You're going NW next turn right ?
I want to sim when we get the northern site explored, if there's another resource with the sheep I'll have to redo it. In any case we're rolling till about turn 25 so I can wait 2 or 3 turns.

Turn 11 - 3560 BC

No pic this turn, but I unveiled Wheat (!) from the center fog. That puts us all 3 Granary foods under our control if we can secure them all. We also have 2/3 Harbor foods and 3/4 Supermarket ones. And some Bananas. This makes me wonder if the mapmaker's plan was to provide each player with an overabundance of choice through the second ring to gauge how they prioritize.

There is a forested hill NW of the Gold that we can get to next turn. That should showcase most of our Gem City options.

No city growth yet for anyone at turn 11. Is "worker first" the universal first move now? Even if it is, it's no match for the "Fast Worker first" approach! bash

Question to Adrien or the lurkers:

Does anyone have a chart of what each tech is worth on CivStats (6, 12 ,18 etc)? I'd like to try following this more closely so that we narrow down the correct path for everyone.

ancient era techs = 6, classical era = 12, medi era = 18 etc.

You're going to want to use this guide: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=163098

Thanks, Krill! It's been awhile, but I remember browsing through this article before. This will certainly come in handy for our own brand of C&D.

Turn 13 - 3480 BC

Last turn we found Pig to complete our Supermarket collection, and more Wheat this turn (guarded by a Lion 2 tiles away). I'll try to post pics of the region when I get home in about 8 hours.

We are now working the Corn tile, so Salmon Falls will grow in 2 turns. In my sims, I roaded the Deer tile to properly time the groundbreaking of our first mine on T16 since we get Mining in 3 turns. I don't remember if Mobility ignores the river penalty so I don't think we should road the Corn though it would be preferable. I can re-sim that tonight to make sure.

It will be interesting to see where we stand the next 2-3 turns as far as rival city growth and tech goes. Right now, we all still sit at 38 points. I do believe we've put ourselves in a great position with the FW, considering the variety of resources we have around us. I also think we will get a huge bang for our buck out of basic mining for production due to the turn we save climbing each hill. Paired with eventual Forges, this should allow us to stay ahead of a possible Impi rush and maybe consider going on the offensive. But too early to tell, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.......

Yeah I'd like screenshots to put up a better sandbox and sim it out more tomorrow. I'm not sure attacking early is the best solution, we'll have to wait and see.

A few things I noticed while playing the turn :

Everyone had a coastal start. Max land area is 17k, and I don't see someone having 4 lakes in the BFC.
Grimace went Meditation first !!!!!!! WTF ???? If he had two hunting resources at his cap it's not as crazy as it sounds. But still delays BW quite a bit. Anyway he'll probably put Duns everywhere to add to the culture bonus, he'll be a pain to conquer. I know his growth rate won't be great but I still don't want him as the next neighbor we meet.

Now, more good land to the north, except you can see the ice line through the fog in the north.

And for simming purposes, the south.

The warrior will check the hill site to make sure we're not missing something in the fog (99.9% sure there's nothing w of the forested hill). New warrior will be coming in 5t. Then settler->FW->Stonehenge.
