Well, I meant to capture the city. Had to raze it because it took 2 Axe and 2 Spears to kill an Axe with only fortification bonus except 2 Axes as I thought it would.

OTOH you can see Adrien's axe in the screenshot stacked with 2 workers on the border that I sniped with a Chariot and covered with a Longbow, so it's a decent consolation prize.

But it isn't gonna matter because Elum took another 3 cities this turn. It's what, 8 cities in 8 turns?

If I knew Grimace was going to die so quickly I'd have used the GA to get some units to hit Elum but I think it's going to be too little, too late now: I'm fine with conceding at this point, though no doubt we'll have to wait till he gets Taj before Whosit and CH give in.

Not this time. The basement has a finished ceiling and I don't want to deal with not being able to fish the lines. I am getting Mike the professional to run coax and ethernet. He is also here putting in lights and fans in the bedrooms.

Misc: We got a GM, traded 1 for 1 Trireme with Adrien so we're now 2 exp away from GG, swapped to Theo/Slavery and started whipping.

Well, he's still in his second one so he get an extended one. He's going for Paper at current, and Adrien is researching Aesthetics!? while in a war with us and johns.

Just spent the best part of 4 hours unpacking boxes in the basement. I said that I would stop once I found all of the parts for my NAS. Found the case, PSU and other computer parts fairly quickly. Couldn't find the $600 of WD RED HDDs . Opened every single flipp'n box in the basement . No HDDs . Started to think about going through all of the empties looking for the newegg box with the HDDs in them . Tried one box in the rumpus room ... bingo!

Time for a break and dog walk.

In demos iirc we're currently 4th for GNP, MFG, CY (we should be 5th but johns has been whipping like a madman). Which isn't too bad given our slowest start and strategic decisions that set us back further, but we're in no contention and we can only hope to slow Elum down by a bit by razing vulnerable cities; we can't take any core cities (well we can certainly try to hit one but chances may not be good). Elum has played smart by placing many border cities off the coast so our UUs can't hit them.

Elum has grabbed the lion's share of Grimace's territory and Whosit hasn't. This is probably our fault because Whosit has had to keep back troops to defend his backlines against CH while Elum hasn't had to do much against us . Though CH is currently 2nd place he needs to grab land from someone to keep up with Elum since he's too far away to directly hit him but so far he hasn't been making a move. So the only one who can really stop runaway Elum is Whosit but I don't think Whosit is big enough because of not having the same amount of land and CH is at his rear. The most we can do is bite at Elum's heels and irritate if he slip ups but otherwise the game is for Elum to lose.
