We settled our capital Zangetsu. ToW allows us to start with a work boat. We still need fishing to work it though, so that's why we are researching it.
We might want to delay religion. If Sumeria grabs one, we can then research the other without any risk of losing a race.

We have our rivers for financial. Coasts too, eventually. They just require wharfs first.
Food is fairly scarce compared to the usual. 2-3 food resources a city has become a norm with these custom maps.
Normally I'd probably prefer less food on maps, but in this case it's counterproductive to my plans.

I'm delaying religion for now. I don't want to lose a race and already be forced to play from behind this early.
I can either switch to a religion once the other mysticism civ finds his (if he goes for it) or I can try to time it with my second city to make it a holy city.

Map so far. It could be like I predicted if it loops after the bananas. The lands we see to the south and to the north might be empty buffer islands.
Our scout is injured after fighting a wolf. He just met a lion this turn but it's still out of range.

After 4 turns of shuffling our scout managed to sneak past the lion



I'm convinced that this map was all hand-crafted as an experiment to make dot mapping as complicated as possible.
This is what I came up with on my first attempt. That copper is the only one we have.

Started Polytheism this turn. Religion will pop exactly on time for our second city, which will be at the pigs/deer spot.

Oh yea, another thing. If our scout finds out that the land does loop, I think it will be a huge priority to start settling overseas as those are the lands that will be contested.
