Well, the easiest thing would be for Firaxis to let the user indicate where to put the My Games folder, instead of Civ4 looking for a location that may not be there the way it thinks it is.
I had thought that the days when you are forced to use the C drive were gone.
Btw, my new user has no admin rights, my primary user has.
Somewhere on the web I found a suggestion (not civ4-related) to run the System File Checker for this particular error message, but I don't know if that's safe: is there a risk that it overwrites updated files?
