My mother in law is finally gone, thank god, and my own ma isn't gonna be here for another week. So, I have a bit more time, if anyone has any questions.
I think I'll also finally catch my sim up, to see if I need any more workers (15 now and it feels razor-thin, considering how fast my cities are growing) and to see how well my GA timing will sync with a swap into Bureau by the end of it... shouldn't be too hard with wealth builds, right? I wonder if I can squeeze IW in there too... I have a few tiles locked in jungle that I'd like to use, and, as good as skirmishers are, it'd be nice to build a few units that I'd be able to attack out with.
I'm also still preparing an overflow chain for the HG, although I mostly expect it to pop any turn now.
Currency in - at 0% science, we went from 25gpt on T90 to 71gpt on T91! Top economy looks to be Fennbandit at +98gpt. I think we'll pass that once our first two markets are in 3 turns from now. Masonry next turn, and Forges will start production T97.
Noob question and too lazy to check: Does Currency give anything else than +1 TRs and are you getting that +46 gpt from new TRs only? I mean it sure gives some buildings too (Markets?) but I mean like automatic ecomical benefits...
I'm getting 45 extra commerce from routes; the last commerce is probably just growing onto a new tile somewhere between turns, or shuffling tiles, or slightly less upkeep, etc. My first 2 markets won't be done for 3 and 4 more turns, respectively; they'll bring in about an extra 20gpt together (6 from the first, 14 from the second) at 0% slider.
Instead of doing work this afternoon, on my first day that I'm supposed to be back to work, I did a bunch of planning for this game, heh. It's actually amazing how guilty I feel about it, but I guess that what happens when you work for yourself. Here's the summary:
Next city plantings:
#16: T95
#17: T96
#18: T97
#19: T99
and that's it, unless I put down another filler or two.
Projected HG completion date is T97. I'll end up whipping 5 pop in total for it so it's not gonna be as great as it looks, but still worth it especially because the T96 and T97 plants want insta-monument whips. I guess I coulda technically get it T93... but it's not worth it for 5 pop worth of whips in HW with only 15 cities and causing total fucking chaos for my worker pool (as I'd have had to bring in extra from elsewhere, with my 3 dudes already in the area hooking the stone from T92/T93).
Tech timings:
Masonry: T92
Metal Casting: T97
Iron Working: T101
Code of Laws: T105
Civil Service: T112
Compass: T115
In total, these 4 GPP will cost me, by T133, about 2 empire-wide turns worth of growth (421 food) and 32h, but put me up +1 classical tech. Not as bad as I was expecting, actually.
First, T92. I found Fennbandit's new plant up here... interesting that they settled on flatground, as that must mean that they think they can get 1 more city to the west. Well, I'm gonna back off for now, but I'll be planting 2 more cities in this area very quickly, hopefully before they get the chance - the 2 settlers are already on the island T83.
BTW you can see our worker and skirm on a secret mission over on Borsche's island...
Dreylin's being annoying with his galley, double-moving across turn-boundaries to slip it into my border. So obnoxious. I wouldn't care if this was a workboat, but a fucking galley? Come on dude. I had like 4 unguarded workers over here that have by now slipped back into the fog, blegh. Anyways, he's probably creeping up to smack on Tsargon, not me. Dreylin's up to 13 cities now btw, as are TBS and Haram.
Suck on it, expansive wonder guy! By the way, I have more granaries than you have cities! (then again, I didn't get Jowy'd quite like he did, but let me have my moment here! )
Someone popped a GE, probably Haram, at low odds in his capital instead of the expected Prophet, so any last lingering thoughts I had about going towards the Aesthetics line have been ripped to shreds. Bureau is the way we'll go.
We've dropped down to 5th in power, but I'm not too concerned. I believe TBS is #1 with that 177k figure, but ranks 2-6 seem to be clustered very closely between about 160k and 140k. (We're at 150k)
On T93, I started on Moai, now that our stone is hooked. Last turn we had a bunch of overflow coming out of a granary chop, so I had to build wealth here for one turn in order to carry-over the overflow so that it was multiplied by the stone. Our Moai will complete just before our GA, on like T103, and it'll have a Granary + LH installed at Size 6. Nice. During the GA, it should be able to slow-build a forge and hit like size 10 or something awesome like that.
Note that we have our slider at 80% despite not having the gold on hand to finish MC. This is because we have a market completing in SBW at EOT T93 and at MW EOT 94. So, we burn our gold now, and then finish MC in additional 2 turn break-even in order to get the most of our new buildings; this will be slightly better than a few additional civs worth of KTB. Our MC date will be 1 turn earlier than I had predicted a few turns ago thanks to just a few limited wealth builds; so, we'll start building forges on T96, not T97. Which is nice.
Our CY has shrunken down to less than 30 - I think rival best must be TBS since Haram and Dreylin still look massively behind on the graphs - but like 9 of our cities grow next turn so we'll be back to dominating for a little while yet.
Next turn we start whipping like crazy for the HG.

I'm surprised to see that people, especially fennbandit and jowy, are still triple-whipping kind of often... surely you've got to have enough happycap and good tiles to work that its not worth it anymore, right? Or is it just panicking about being behind?
Oh my god, today was such a stressful fucking day. Nothing to do with the game... that's going fine at least. Baby just won't sleep!!!
One bit of bad news was that TBS landed the HG; well, at least we didnt burn anything on it.
TBS whipped 10 pop off in the last 2 turns, so our CY lead is still quite considerable, even despite all the whipping we've been doing too. Well, good for him, this catches up a lot I guess. I'm sad that we can't land it T97 and hit 300CY by T100, but it wasn't worth landing this thing for 10 pop (15 cities - 5 pop from whips) especially considering that we'd have needed extra workers, and at any rate we didn't have the happycap to support the extra pop in our developed cities until just recently.
SRT now has a whole bunch of half-completed buildings in the queue. I guess we just let those slow-build to completion. Kinda got lucky here that we hadn't started the whip chain yet cause that woulda truly wrecked that city.
Also note that Tsargon declared on Borsche; this isn't probably a real war, they're just infuriated with each other over the diplo pitboss they're playing at badgame. That game is why they're both kinda sucking in all their games here, its just eating up all their attention and energy. Well, at any rate them wearing each other down in this game is good for us here.
Muddy Water is now size 11, still tied for the biggest city in the world, and will be size 12 in 3 turns:
Overview shot:
Demos/Counts:
CY and GNP are great, especially considering the last one is only at 30% slider. We now gain 108gpt at 0% slider plus 7bpt from scientists. MFG is lousy, although I note we've been whipping pretty hard to make up for it. Hopefully MFG becomes more competetive once our forges start comin in over the next few turns.
CY Graph:
Top power is alarmingly high, but I think it's probably TBS about to crash into Jowy (again?)
I can't remember if I said this in my last post, but power ranks 2-6 seem to be tightly grouped around 150k. (Borsche is around here too; just lost his graphs for a turn)
City counts:
16: Us (T95)
14: Haram (T95)
13: TBS (T93), Dreylin (T90)

9: Borsche (T85)
8: Tsargon (T91)
5: Scipio (T80)
Whip Counts:
TBS: 61 pop total; 6 triplepop whips, 16 doublepop whips, 12 singlepop whips
The Blues Brothers: 58 pop total; 16 doublepop whips, 26 singlepop whips
