Why pick a named bird at all for Crow + Air, though, why not literally "Bird 2"? I still say pass.

Good point about ball, TT.
Ok, Condor is a strange clue for Crow, but the fact remains that you should expect a Crow guess if you clue Condor. So it's a risky way to clue Air + King, if there even is such a thing as a king condor. As such, Crow should be gray at worst, so we might as well point to it instead of passing.
So I'm on board with Crow, even if I don't know why Bird wasn't used instead.
I have to run.

Yeah, I'm still unsure but that's life.
David, you have the deciding vote, point to your decision. If you prefer pass I'll give you the tiebreak.

Well, I would say that a prime reason not to use "bird" to clue something to do with air, is exactly to avoid clueing "crow". I would totally get the logic "I named a very specific bird so that you don't go after birds in general".
Clearing out a gray is no better than passing, it helps the other team as much as us. Moreover, it makes sense to use the +1 allowance the rules give for guessing, we can always come back to Crow, and we give the spymaster a chance to react to our discussion. I am a big fan of passing in the early stages of the game.

If we pass, the spymaster may have to reclue either king or crow. If we guess correctly or hit a grey, he won't have to. When I was spymaster I regretted my team passing after clue 2 instead of clearing out Mercury, which was grey. (Which is what they did after clue 3 instead when we had to gamble.)
I have to run.

Condor and Crow are both birds starting with C, fwiw. I guess that's not related to the meaning of the word, so it's probably not worth much...

The only thing I can think of in regards to Condor as well is from Final Fantasy 7, if I'm not mistaken that's what the bird is in that monster fighting minigame.

It's not clear to me what that is a vote for, David...
Let's err on the side of caution and keep this moving.
Pass
