I can 2-turn tech Banking Smug

Now I have a lot of buildings to go through.. Grocers came online this turn, Banks in 2, then probably Wharves next and Universities after that.
I'll have my first Golden Age in like 10 turns. Way overdue, big mistake.

TBS is conquering Scipio. It seems he agrees with me that throwing units at Benihime can get too expensive for what the reward is. Better to take an empire than one city.

The big guys need to start fighting each other. That would be my chance to expand.

GJ and Haram are now in a war. TBS is almost finished with Scipio. Am I next? He has Knights now.

I'm now #4 in Pop. Economy looks good and is improving rapidly.
Teching Paper and Printing Press next. Golden Age soon.
Only worried about an attack. Sending out more units to act as scouts.

Got Printing Press. Banks and Wharves are complete in many cities. Still in GA.
I can 4T tech Education at break-even. Might have to get some military techs after that.

Found a Knight-stack on the island I share with Borsche. I switched to Gunpowder and started ferrying over units.
He could just be hiding them from main-land scouts, but better safe than sorry right?

I might get Education next, or start 1-turn teching all the old techs I've skipped.

Btw this is the strongest I've ever been economically in a PB/Pitboss on Turn 150. Usually things go to shit before that, or alternatively I handicap myself early and then have to climb up.
Mistakes were made on a few things (some quite big) and I'll know better next time, but regardless I'm still keeping up with the pack.
I believe I'm the only one who didn't start next to either Scipio or Tsargon, who were the two weakest players and who've given up the most land to their neighbors.

GJ has Rifles and whipped 15 times in the last 2 turns. Someone's getting invaded.

I'm about 10 turns from Rifles, and even then I don't really have the production to match his. But I guess I could hope that he either finds a weaker target, or wants to take down a threat.

TBS had declared on Tsargon. GJ piled in. Haram declared on GJ. Tsargon declared on Borsche.
7 looong turns till I get Rifles and can feel a bit safer.
