I don't see any problem though with making fallout & walls block all movement. They have literally no other function than to obstruct movement, and never appear normally.

Shoot, Mardoc's FP plains tile must be the old regular FP tile has capital had before it was moved, which then got filled in as plains without deleting the underlying FP bonus. I wonder if the situation is the same for everyone else...
Aaaaand Mardoc has a plains FP
![]() If he settles near it, I think we should restart the game. If not, I reckon it's disruptive, but with negligible effect. Edit: and yeah, that's exactly right. If he looks at his old starting screenshot, he'll probably work that out.

I think at this point we should just let them roll with it. Idk, maybe ask him to not settle it.
Edit: with his capital, that is.
First map criticism! W00t!
DaveV has two annoyances: That he hasn't gained a commerce from moving inland, and that another player (Mardoc) was able to settle inland on t0. The first count emerges because he has an unirrigated corn compared to some other players irrigated rice. This was compensated by giving those players both their Wine on a river, and the fact that you can irrigate it later for +1f. Is +1f 70t and on worth less than +1c for the first 20t? Probably less, but who really cares. Count the second emerges because Mardoc is Elves, and I refused to discriminate based on species. But sure, it's a distinct advantage you could say he has because of that. I would respond that this is not a map the Elves will be very fond of, given the mediocre-to-bad distribution of forest, abundance of rivers and floodplains, and few inland cities. The true mapmaker error of Mardocs floodplain plain is a much better argument, but still comparatively mild. To put it another way, DaveV, come at me bro!

I'm glad Plako apparently hasn't considered rushing someone. He almost certainly could have gotten an elimination if he had grouped together all of his starting units, marched them at a neighbor, and then popped his WS. Then again, by the time he had scouted enough to reveal that was possible it probably was too late anyway.
I'm also a little worried that this game will end up coming down to T2 unit rushes and 2/3 of the map won't see any substantial play. It's hard to say if the players will manage to form stable fronts on the donut for a while or quickly turn to making all-in attacks.
Yeah, same. Perhaps a large donut would have been the right decision? It's a very difficult thing to effectively judge how large a map is or should be when mapmaking, something FFH games have struggled with since about my mirror map.

I do have to say, apropos of nothing, that I think my terrain placement here was some of my best work, at least from an aethestic point of view. Mountains on shallows bordering ice in particular looks fantastic- I'll have it keep it in mind should I design another Adventure.
Another map mistake, btw, was the citadels rather than forts placement. Although it does add another dynamic to the decision to go over there early - Jalepeno's extra warrior, for instance, being able to kill a scout and deny information.
