From how I understand the delegation process, as close as things are, Romney vs Biden is still not a 0% chance... lol

I'm a libertarian Republican so while I'd disagree with you on your assessment of the world at large, I'd pretty much agree with you on how things are going to go. Strange election where everyone hates all the serious candidates...

It's fine as long as I don't need to argue against something as preposterous as "being attacked is no indicator of the likelihood of being attacked again."

For a moment, I thought this was something Trump said. lol

I feel like its a testament to RB that in the same thread we can have lengthy political discource and twitchchat and both are equally welcomed. thumbsup

Here's hoping for a Trump vs Sanders showdown popcorn

This would be fantastic, besides the part where I've outed myself as a Sanders supporter, because Bernie is far more likely to tell
Trump to go fuck himself in a debate and the subsequent Trump meltdown and then post-debate hand-wringing would be entertaining as all get out.

Thanks! While I do think votes matter - Commodore's assertion above being more or less correct in a lot of ways, but the Bush presidency if nothing should have taught us all about the consequences of punting because they both suck and nothing will happen (at an absolute bare minimum, a Gore presidency does not invade Iraq) - I view politics more in the same way I view sport - I root for my favorites but enjoy the analysis as much as the games themselves. I harbor no delusions that the choices in this election will positively impact my life in any meaningful way, it is far more likely I am only voting to avoid negatives this time around - which will be true as long as the House of Representatives is gerrymandered in such a way that the Republicans would have to be nuclear-level incompetent to lose their majority.

I was hoping for a Trump vs Biden foot-in-mouth special. It would have been epic!

This would be an even more entertaining debate than Trump-Sanders! Could we arrange one just for sport? popcorn

Not 0% no, but only something like the death or indictment of Clinton is going to impede her march to the nomination and I do not believe either of those scenarios is likely.

There really hasn't been a collection of candidates on either side quite like this batch of Republicans. It really is quite remarkable. The Democratic side is more typical - a legacy "their time" candidate. Those are usually the most beatable - see John Kerry and Bob Dole in relatively recent memory. I guess Hillary's best recent analogue is actually John McCain, someone the base never really liked all that much but was due after the previous contested cycle. This is why I think she's eminently beatable even given the challenges Republicans face in national elections (namely that many more people are registered or lean Democrat than Republican and the Presidential election is the only one that actually gets all those people to turn out.) But again, you have to do better than the likes of Trump and Cruz if you want to win an election against anyone this side of Ronald McDonald.

t253

Exploration in the east revealed fish near the Brickastley.

SW exploration revealed the proposed deer city to suck.

Overall, you can see we just whipped the worker in the capital while the completed Nixon worker started farming and the city started on popping borders.

t254

Further eastern exploration revealed copper and incense, a pair of unique resources.

Nothing much in the north. We whipped the worker there and a botch on ordering means we screwed up our micro a little.

Mistake #2 visible, by not following the sandbox here we missed out on 1/2 road on the tile that says 2NW next turn. Clearly, we're not quite bringing the sauce this game so far.

t255

In the north, plains deer and a city ruin. No easy way to settle this at what we can see visibly so far. So it goes.

In the south, we can see that just about every resource is represented. Not sure how much further out we can send that rifleman but a little more visibility would be good.

Not that easy to make out in the screenshot, should have taken one before we moved and with resource bubbles off, but REMs explorer is underneath our explorer on the incense tile. There's a suggested "Pink Dot" city there NE of the tile we are currently on but it would basically require us to send the next round of settlers out in a Parkin Line (anyone remember that term) to claim and conveniently ignores the possibility that we'll see another neighbor in at least one if not two other directions (current assumption is that there is another neighbor both in the NE and SW.

Any questions?

Do you have any other instances of the BRickAstley grass hill horse to classify that as a me tile? Surely just two appearances on one map does not a legacy make.

Hey now when you find two Brickastleys in under five turns and it's such an unusual tile, it's pretty apparent that you have a subconscious preference for it.

Bravo Gaspar. Sounds like both the Republicans and Democrats have sold out their base to the various different chequebooks that actually pay for their campaigns. I'd say something about how your money rules ruin things, but the UK has strict spending limits and the politicians on both sides still do what the rich folks want.

Anyway I'm going to guess that at the convention Kasich sells his delegates to Trump to be running mate...

While we're on politics - what's the deal with Lula Ichabod? Is/was he and his government really that corrupt or is it a set-up?

I liked what little I heard of what Rand Paul said - seems like there's a bunch of common ground between libertarians and liberals - so any chance you vote for Bernie? mischief
