Likewise. I was getting annoyed with the announcers who seemed to ignore her wreck because she wasn't from the USA.
It also must have been really hard for Van Der Bruggen to celebrate after passing her motionless teammate crumpled on the side of the road.

Kind of glad the British woman came in 5th, even though i don't think she did dope, having missed 3 tests there would have been a bit of drama is she medalled.

Ah, what a reversal in the closing minutes of Germany - South Korea (men's soccer)

Just watched a clip of the last goal. Seemed like a bit of a blunder from the goalkeeper there, even though the ball was deflected I'm not sure he should have ever been in that position or leaning to the right - the ball was too low to go over the wall anyway.

Man, I can't decide if Phelps or Bolt is more impressive. So lucky to see both these guys...

Darrell Stoner hubris vs. loveable goofball? C'mon.
I gotta say, Bolt is a real punch in the face of the whole "roid rage" image I have of PEDs. Apparently the modern stuff is a lot nicer on the personality.

Katie Ledecky's WR was most impressive for me. Literally no one else on screen, you don't see that too often. 4G 1S too.

Ledecky's 800m was downright mesmerizing. One of my favorite sports things is when a player/team is just so downright dominant that you can't look away. It's a little bit harder to appreciate in a shorter race, but when you get 8 full minutes of utter dominance it really drives it home.
I didn't really realize going into this that Phelps was going to turn in THAT kind of Olympics this time around at age 31, especially after looking slightly more human in London. His turn in the 4x100m made me legitimately yell at the tv. I assumed at this stage he was the weak link of the 4 (with good reason), and then he went and did that.

Is that for sure? I have a hard time believing it for some reason. I knew Armstrong was doping, I knew Bonds was, but call me stupid I think Bolt is all natural.

Yeah, that was pure dominance. The 400m run by Niekerk was also phenomenal...what he did from lane 8 is insane.

Note the American performances plummeted after Marion Jones went to jail for lying about PEDs. Honestly the Olympics are taking on increasingly science-fictional dimensions. Straight steroids less so, but there are a hundred different options now for all the various sports. Beta blockers for the shooters, HGH for big mainline team sports, puberty-retardants in gymnastics, kind of thing. Being an Olympic athlete isn't exactly great for your long-term health.
