It might be too restrictive for #1 but I wouldnt mind trying an Acrophobic (fear of heights) epic in the new game fairly early.
Since all the previews seem to emphasize how important mountains are, I think it would be interesting where (as much as possible) you are not allowed to have any part of a city (inc districts and wonders) adjacent to a mountain, maybe limit units being next to them too (not sure if that would be doable)
Just looking back I see I was using my terminology wrong, its an epic I was suggesting we do, not an adventure (which seems to be more heavy on the map building)

Maybe we could/should start with an "Epic #0" game? Just a regular map with no special settings, but everyone starts from the same save, so we have a standard to measure our play and reporting against. That could be run right after release for whoever has bought the game early.
