[LURKERS] Setting Up Tents for a Ren Faire

If Mackoti recognize what kind of fruition you are talking about he can get Kremlin for free without even teching Scientific Method. But I personally think that they will fall earlier.

I don't see that happening easily (the free Kremlin part). Jannisarries and Scooter's Big Brother eyes are no small obstacles, and a quagmire is the last thing you want in a FFA, arguably your fatal downfall in PB33.

Literally every team is eyeing Al as the "easy" target, which means, like, a 6 way war-ish.   crazyeye On the other hand it would be kind of silly for those other 5 teams to let him have the Kremlin, SP, and jannisarries with no obstacles.

You cant keep in the mind more than one pattern, can you ? Nobody reall analysed  what happened in pb33, I mean the entire picture. But you feel satisfied with such a limited conclusions like " Imp/org are better than everyone", "everyone who attacks is doomed".

AL doesnt have gunpowder yet, and mack has cata phracts. They will fall very soon most likely, but there is a small chance they will be simply late to rifles because Communism doesnt help to improve economics.

That's not my view AT ALL other than the attacking people in a FFA is usually a bad idea. You're a super crazy aggressive personality, I think that Mack is going to be more reasonable. Caveat I have never seen him play and you guys have. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the first few skirmishes. I don't think your takeover of AFK Gaspar is going to happen to Al.

Whoa now! We only have 1 job as lurkers; to bay for blood. wink
More seriously, I think you'd be hard pressed to find many games here where the winner did not have a successful invasion. Picking the right target and window for that invasion is a key skill and your target having a wonder like the Kremlin that retains full value after taking it is a big plus. I think Al has a very tricky job set out for him to navigate to Communism while continuing to look prickly.

I thought we had two jobs. Bay for blood and blindly criticise those that refuse our demands for said blood?

True, but a full blown war that lasts like 40 turns and is fun for the lurkers isn't going to work at all. I think the Kremlin getting burned down is a more likely scenario.

In response, I scrounged up 3 Knights, a longbow, and a catapult, and I landed a longbow behind that tile on a jungle chokepoint to prevent reinforcement. It didn't matter because he had a Cataphract + Pikeman on hand to kill it. I gave it the day yesterday before I played because I briefly considered tilting, so I let myself cool off. I'm going to settle copper instead with the settler that's out.

* That said, I'm still mentally making note of this with Mackoti. My primary goal is still winning. Should that become no longer possible further down the road, my secondary goal will be ensuring he doesn't win. I won't be in a position to do anything for awhile anyway, so it's best I keep my head down for now.

Just Mack being Mack? I wish he would update his thread so that his success wasn't so magical -- although it could be that he's following the The Black Sword's plan.

Any prognostications on how he's doing it?

This map is really great. After an initial part full of micro discussion and different strategies, teams are now starting to get into small border conflicts in all sides. A little later, we can expect full blown conflict. That's perfect progression for a game, IMO.
