Not whilst they are stuck with slingers. In fact, this SP-inspired slinger meta is just begging to be busted with some war carts

Everyone would play differently with Sumeria (or even Egypt) in the game though; they'd recognize the UUs as a threat. With this set of civs, there's no drawback to building cheap slingers for upgrade-if-necessary to archers: Until Sullla gets his game-changing GG or someone techs HBR and either builds an encampment or hooks a second source of horses, nothing stronger than a scout can attack out of the fog.

Archduke has given up on the game before he even started to try. At least, he should have the courage to go down in flames.
I am wondering what Yuris is doing, because his attackers are all over the place, not what a concerted strike effort would look like. Meanwhile Sullla is gloating to be #1 in everything. I hope he tries to attack teh, who has 5 archers for defense Looking forward to that battle.

He (Sullla) will probably change target once he notices that teh's military is no joke (of course others might as well build military in the mean time)

Yuris was clearly checking out which direction is most lucrative for attack. I'd say that makes some sense, but he should choose very quickly.

Anyone know what teh's chances are defending against Yuris?

According to his last update teh is 1 turn away from Archery. 2 or 3 Archers should be able to stop the Aztecs.
Depending how closely teh watches the movement of the yuris warriors he might smell the attack soon enough to save Mainz.
So Mainz (or the new settler ) is in danger to get captured but the rest should be save.

Yeah, Yuri is not pushing through 3 human-controlled archers. I'm not sure how many slingers are in the vicinity of Mainz, but really all of them should be, being the base of peninsula and all.

Germany gets 1 additional military slot in all governments. If he calculates teh's military capabilities without this he might get an unpleasant surprise.
