Yuris125 and a fancy headdress. Aztecs in Civ6 PBEM

Is the plan still to invade Teh, but with archers? popcorn

Probably. I want to punish that city so bad.... and geographically his cities would still be easiest to integrate. Just need to prepare properly now

Well, as it turns out, teh was within his right to make an aggressive plan. He has a lot more military than I thought (and a lot more than me)

What are your long-term plans moving forward, especially now that most of the map is settled?

Mid-term, make sure I have defences against that scary army, build up Commercial and Industrial districts, get trade routes going. Then we'll see the situation then, I can't say there's any particular goal I can see right now

I expect the game to be decided by military, but unfortunately Jag conquest ideas is out of the window at this point, now that teh is controlling the middle of the map and it's tricky to reach anyone. Ideally I would like a couple more cities to take advantage of Aztec amenity boosting UA, but don't see good spots right now. Perhaps there's some decent land off the main continent - we'll see

What do you expect to happen in the game over the next 20-30 turns?

Do you think you could have got more out of your Eagle Warriors? And do you think that the Combat Bonus from luxuries is strong enough to give you a military edge in the later stages of the game?

teh will declare war on someone. Sulla will turtle and micro the hell out of the game, as is his wont. No idea what the Archduke will do - not enough info

Yes and no. I thought I could get more out of them, but teh's middle-of-the-map city effectively blocked me off. As you can see I entertained the idea of attacking him until I saw how many units he had. I could still attack another city state (Stockholm), but not sure how beneficial it would be, or even if I would be able to defend it - it's open to teh's attack a lot more than my mainland

And no, I don't think the combat bonus is big enough to matter even in the early game, definitely not by mid-game when +2 power is a very low fraction of the base strength

My love for Aztecs comes from their ability to go wide with fewer amenities, but I don't see how I can go wide in this game at the moment

I just checked city counts of all players. Sulla has 5, everyone else has 4. I'm mostly surprised that teh has 4 - that central city felt like an aggressive plant you would only settle after claiming and developing your own land! Of course, he can defend it as it stands; problem is, the way his city is positioned, whoever wants to attach anyone will have to first attack him

Feel better about my chances after checking this. All I need to do now is come up with a plan which makes sure it's me who captures teh's cities and not someone else

By now I'm sure you must be aware of all the wars going on, any thoughts?
