Also note -- crossbow Corp with double promotion and Sun Tzu one-shots crossbows. At our culture rate though I'm not even sure if we will get the full gold earlier or the professional army policy card.
One idea to get that crossbow Corp asap is to build a bunch of gold-generating projects, which we kinda want anyway. Not necessarily to completion.

For lurkers, note what an interesting catch up mechanism is offered by great people -- you don't need to be in an Industrial era yourself to grab an Industrial great person, which, in case of a general, can mean an entire unit.
Incidentally, that's why I think we should not get Gustavus, the next ones up will offer an instant cavalry unit or instant army (+17 strength). Of course, we can be unlucky and get 2 envoys.
If we turtle, we should think about retiring Sun Tzu to fix some of that culture problem.

Hmm, I sent some horses north which Oledavy sees, the more I look on the culture and science scores, the more I fear that he could be close to stirups as well.
I am considering that we get 2-3 chariots, maybe just as faking like we could upgrade them. Fixing the economy is under way, we are starting to pull in money.
We could also try to ask Alhambram and/or Woden for money or a loan (money against mpt)
Yeah, Sun Tzu might be an idea to retire, but even on the defensive against Knight and Xbowmen, he keeps our horseman in play.
Also, the thing is, Oledavy got a lucky map position, he expanded 3 new towns in the north and should be at an advantage in the longrun (no friggin idea how Singaboy beat him, still).
So we might consider a renewed DoF with him.. Maybe even offer him to unite against Woden?
I am loathe to reengage Oledavy, he has walls prebuilt in Lafayette. And I have to assume that is he reconsidering attacking me as I got the GG and not him.
Decisions, Decisions.

Well, my fear with Singa would be that he - totally understandable - will probably take the burning of his second city and crown jewel personally.
In a 2vs1 he will probably opt to kill me.
Yeah, a dow on turn 104 might be the best idea, even with a bit of outdated units. I can at least get one xbowmen in the worst case.
A beeline to the next GG is probably also a very, very good idea.

If we attack on T104, it totally has to be from the eastern direction, to avoid encampment fire.
Another option -- we can sit on El Cid instead of making a crossbow corp, preparing hard to grab the next GG, e.g. by pre-building some encampment projects. If we luck out on the GG that gives a Cavalry unit, we can then use El Cid to make it into a Corp, strength 72, even before we tech Cavalry. That's a cool 85 damage against Musketmen, and receiving back only 10. Single-digit damage from crossbows. Also comes with a promotion, so an insta-heal charge.

In Zacynthus, once it has grown to 3, I would harvest the deer to give the 4th pop, and place an acropolis on that hill. Industrial disctrict was probably an error -- what is that city ever going to build, how would those cogs be used? Even encampment for GG points would have been better probably.
For Feudalism, I would place the farming triangle between Ithake and Mykenes, it would also help with housing in Ithake. Chopping those jungles would also do wonders. In fact, probably needs a builder once the IZ is complete, and the builder can go chop, with the chops going into another builder.

Final bit, sorry for spam -- what's the plan with Mathematics? Doesn't seem to lead anywhere interesting. Education, Banking, Mass Production, Astronomy -- I don't think we have a realistic use for any of these techs, save maybe banking, but the cost (Education, which we'll never boost, and Banking itself) is too high.

Keep the input coming. Well Mathematics was the only thing which was boosted.
But yeah, going for stirups is next, I need to farm 6 places as well, although there are not too many which make sense.
About Zakynthus, SP mistake. and yes a deer is enroute to the chop bloc.
Cities like this on the coast without a river, I like to equip with a harbour, but on pangea.

Yeah, Stirrups, Castles (halfway, we will get the boost eventually), then Printing, all the way, we never get the boost, and then Siege Tactics and MilSci.

Wow, Oledavy got money somewhere, probably Russia.
I also am asking China for a loan.
He is chopping a forest for walls at Lafayette and can worst case upgrade up to 6 crossbowmen and/or knights (at least 1 chariot has been running around last time..)
We might need to turtle.
