I didn't get a chance to play my turn at the end of my window last night; unfortunately that means I won't get to it until this evening.  frown

Regarding the patch, the same posters expect that patch notes to drop after today's Firaxis livestream.   If I see the patch notes appear over at CivFanatics I'll copy & repost over here.

I got to my turn and have passed the save along. I haven't seen anything regarding patch notes or a specific release time yet.

On another note, has anyone noticed some changes in the game play interface? During Turns 34, 35 and 36 (and possibly 33) it Unit Auto-Cycle was active but then for Turn 37 it was inactive. I've also noticed that auto-scrolling has occasionally been changing whether or not it's active . My personal settings have Auto-Cycle disabled and auto-scrolling active.

Me neither so I played my turn this morning, as stated I will be on a wedding from tonight until Sunday and won't be able to play my turns. However Adrienier will take over the turns this weekend so you can proceed with the game normally.

It also has been confirmed that I will be in South Amerika with uncertain access of a PC and internet from the 04 Septermber until 17 January.
I am already in discussion with Adrienier if he will be able to take over the game and will keep you updated how that proceeds. It looks like he can take the game from end of September and I might need somebody to cover the beginning.

Hey, Kaiser, how are you going to pass the turns to AdrienIer? I'll have to pass them to Pindicator soon, since I'll be away for a few weeks too. And I can only access PYDT through Steam.

I haven't seen changes in the interface this game, but I had some UI things disappear in previous games. The religion button on the top left of the screen is the main culprit of this. Not sure why that happens...

The patch is out.  Here are the balance changes, some of them appear to be quite significant:

[GENERAL BALANCE CHANGES]
  • Reduced the cost of the Aqueduct by 30%, and Sewers by 50%
  • Reduced cost of all other districts by 10%
  • Increased the discount for districts you have less of from 25% to 40%
Increased costs of district buildings by 10% (except Aerodrome buildings), and increased per settler cost bump by 50%
  • Reduced cost of all spies by 25%
  • The Hanging Gardens now provides +2 Housing in city it is built
  • Walls now provide Tourism, and do not have Maintenance
  • Battering Ram and Siege Tower now upgrade to the Medic support unit, and no longer are functional against a city with Urban Defenses
  • Gave St George an additional Charge
  • Updated Monarchy's Medieval Wall bonus to: "+50% Production toward defensive buildings. +1 Housing for each level of wall."
  • Proselytizer Apostle Promotion only evicts 75% of existing pressure of other religions, not 100%.
  • Press Gangs will now unlock with Exploration and Native Conquest with Colonialism.
  • Increased Anti-Air strength values by 5 across the board. Increased Destroyer AA strength to match other units of the same era.
  • Balance Change to Archer (cost +10) and Maryannu Chariot Archer (cost -20, combat +2, ranged strength +2)
  • Increased cost to repair city outer defenses
  • Moved “Urban Defenses” from Civil Engineering to Steel
None of the Civs in this game have had adjustments made.

@Ichabod: we tried with the PYDT token but that did not work, so I gave him access to my steam account

@patch notes: there are quite some changes impacting our game even at its early stage. What is your opinion, will we update or leave the current patch for our game?

Wow, these changes are pretty big, but i would also say some of them are in order. However, none of the reported bug fixes appear particularly important, many are relevant for late game, which we may not reach (Note, however, that the proper computation of district repair cost in itself is a huge issue). Given the game's bugs are abundant, and not all bug fixes are listed, I would prefer to update. There were far too many nasty surprises in PBEM2, and unless someone feels hard done by by the balance changes, I don't see why we should stay away from updating.

I prefer updating too, but I'd like it to happen at the start of a turn round (i.e. on Kaiser's turn). In this sense, I'll wait to only update after this turn and perhaps Suboptimal can do the same. Hopefully steam didn't update the game while I'm at work...

Yeah, I guess I'll share my Steam account with Pindicator too. I was worried Steam could detect this as account sharing and ban my account, but Pindicator only needs to access my account on PYDT to download the save, not steam itself. I guess it won't be a problem.

I'm afraid that civ 6 is always updated by steam. I only have the choice between high priority updating, always update and update on launch.

As far as patching goes, I think we should move forward with it.  It'll probably be unavoidable since as soon as you go into online mode with Steam and start the game you'll be patched.  I agree with Bacchus that the changes are mostly late game and the early game ones (increased costs to settlers and archers, reduced district costs) are not game-breaking.

I can ensure avoiding the patch tonight by disconnecting from the internet prior to starting the game. I usually play in offline mode anyway but I see the occasional Steam update despite that fact.  I'll patch once I send the turn along.
