Played the turn, nothing truly interesting except Jester is at 90 strength now.
Did he upgrade an archer?

Question: If I have one iron resource and an encampment, I can upgrade warriors to swords, but only if the warrior is in the encampment right?
Further question: How much does it cost?

If the strength went up by 10, that's either slinger -> archer or a scout build. If it went up by more than 10 then he built something from scratch.

You can upgrade with just one resource. It can be upgraded on any tile within your territory. I think in my duel it cost 45g per, not sure if that scales at all.

Pretty sure the cost is 80g to upgrade from a warrior to swordsman.

You can upgrade with only one resource and the unit just needs to be in your territory to do so. You need one copy of a resource to build a unit in an encampment, two copies will let you build the unit anywhere.
The warrior -> swordsman upgrade is 80 ![Icon_Gold Icon_Gold](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/Civ6Icons/Icon_Gold.png) at standard speed. The 45 ![Icon_Gold Icon_Gold](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/Civ6Icons/Icon_Gold.png) cost is the slinger -> archer cost.

Good news everybody!
I found Lisbon in the tundra to the south. If barbs hadn't been annoying we'd have an extra 100g in this game! At least got the free envoy and the quest is trigger the Eureka for Irrigation which we'll get that next turn, so I got that going for me which is nice /mixed meme.
Another barb scout will die next turn, got a warrior to the next promotion level as well, so that is 5 more culture to EE, which should drop it to an 11 turn civic. MT is ready to be finished when needed.
TBH, I'm mostly worried about a rush, because I don't see how to defend against it.

Also, next turn shows iron so I'm hopeful of uploading maps to make dotmap and district plans.
I'm currently considering spending 4 builder charges and VV and CS and then just using the last charge for iron. Probably need a fourth builder sooner than I'd like, but definitely after building a trader and units to secure VV.

How close are we to getting the GG. A major advantage we have is that we can slot the GG card long before others.
