I send a cat and preat to La Mut to start troubling Korea there. I put a LB in the unchopped forest and we can advance with 2 cats, a chariot, preat and axe to start bombing the defenses in a few turns.
Hehe.
Why do I get the impression they are not quite throwing 100% support behind their MDP with Whosit? Total war it is not!

I'm gonna go with a big ol' NO on that one then I think Whosit could be in a world of trouble, depending on how much Kathlete can weaken slaze, and how much HRE bother Korea (so far, not so much)

Yeah...maybe sending those Praetorians on an all expenses paid tour of the world was a bad idea . If he had finished off Korea then and there, he'd be in a much stronger position now.

To be fair, I think Korea would be in a better position if they'd sacked Rome right at the start of the game when they had the chance.

The chance wasn't that great (normal warrior vs Agg warrior is not that great). Of course if they had risked it and won they would be in a very strong position.
India and HRE are quite on par in treating their allies. Both only do pro-former help and quite happy if their friends do the dying.

If you refer to how Spullla treat slaze, I think you should remember that slaze himself wasn't really interested in helping Spullla when they were in trouble! On the other hand, I think is Dantski was more active in diplomacy he could get substantially more help from Spullla... at least that is the feel I get from reading Spullla's thread.

Well there's a difference between being free agents with mutual interests and having an actual Mutual Defense Pact.

It's also true that Spullla aren't in a terribly good position to help slaze directly. Indeed, the plan to hit Jowy and try to distract kathlete is probably the most effective thing they could do right now. A more direct intervention would require them to build a pile of galleys to ship troops over.
Now, the fact that they didn't start building said pile of galleys once the Inca war was predicted does mean that they aren't going all out to help slaze. But like novice said, they also don't have an MDP so aren't under the same obligations as HRE is. There's a big difference between not going all-out to help a maybe ally who hasn't provided any notable assistance themselves, versus declining to honor the full spirit of a formal MDP stemming from a long-term relationship.

Keep in mind though that HRE don't know (as we do) that Dantski and India won't be attacking them. Yes, it easy to criticize them knowing that Korea is the only war they will be in. Obviously, considering that they should commit more fully to that war. But if you were in their shoes and thought you could potentially be at war against 3 teams, I think you'd be looking to minimize the war with Korea too. Even considering the MDP, if India and Dantski were to be coming for them (as from their perspective seems to be the case), it would be in their best interest (and I actually think the best interest of the alliance they are in) for them to limit the war with Korea. HRE is more helpful to Rome alive than dead or crippled.

Not fully committing is one thing. Signing a secret agreement with the enemy to limit how much fighting there'll be is completely different.
