This seems to be consensus, so I'll plan to do this unless there is other outcry. Players will each get their top remaining pick in reverse turn order.
By the way, is there a turn order yet based on play windows?

Okay, caught up on the reading here and will look into get a map set up for you guys. So for review, you are looking for:
Map Type: Pangaea
World Age: New
Goody Huts/: Off
Barbs: On
Difficult: Prince
Map Size: Small or do you want a little extra room with Standard Size
Number of City State: 10(?), that would be 2 each
Temperature: Standard
Rainfall: Standard(?), Wet would give a little more lakes and wood for chopping
Resources: Standard(?), I would suggest Standard and I will probably add a few for balance
Sea Level: I will play around with this to see what makes it more interesting unless someone has an opinion.
Vanilla Game + Aztecs
Let me know if you have opinions on any of these, especially the ones with (?). I will probably start looking at maps over the next couple days and see what I can come up with. I plan on finding a decent map and just doing a few balance changes. Might take until the weekend but hopefully not. I don't have any fancy scripts like Cornflakes, so will have to go with what is rolled for shape but otherwise will try to make sure the starts are relatively balanced and everybody has access to strategic resources. When are you shooting to start?

We had the rainfall-discussion already in PBEM8 and concluded that it would OLORAM the one right choice as a Pantheon so standard please.
About sea-level : Small map with low sea-lvl should give alot of room to everybody.

The advantage of this system is that you're always best off listing your picks in the true order you rate them. In the other system it can be an advantage to, say, put your second choice ahead of your first choice if you think your first choice is going to be heavily contested.
It's not a bug it's a feature!
Mm, but it's not a feature I like. I guess it depends if you want an additional minigame of trying to outguess your opponents before the game proper starts.
Anyway, this is rather beside the point now. I like the plan that's been agreed on as it provides a little counterweight to the advantage of starting first.

FYI people are making their tentative picks in their threads which is fine. Please just PM me your finalized list when you have it so I know you're good with that one and I don't jump the gun on anyone.

*shrug* I'm in no hurry. By the time the map is ready at least. I also need a player order with play windows in mind, and then I'll randomize where in that order we'll actually start.
