Limited time for an update, but T137, finish a university eot, and that will push science up to 111 science per turn. Pin is at 123, and I don't have any way to get large increase short of buying a university. Looks like I'm capping out and Pin is going to push onwards. I'm expecting to get demolished by rough riders.

New job is good, but the hours make it difficult to update except on days off during the week. That's the reason for hte drop off (nice to have a month of not going to work, but that level of engagement is not possible with other duties).

New GS is Darwin, after Alhambram took Emilie. I have the Dead Sea so he is worth 1000 beakrs to me.

I have 218ish points, making 10.1 per turn, Pin has 210ish making 15.3, so I must use projects to secure him. Pin will get Darwin in 14 turns without projects, each project is worth about 41 points to me, and probably 45 to Pin. So with 2 projects Pin could get Darwin in 8 turns. If Pin got 3 projects, I couldn't beat that, so don't bother trying. Can I get Darwin in 8 turns?

With 1 turn to prebuild walls, 1 turn to finish a builder, I can generate at least 180 production, enough to finish one project in CS. I probably can't get a second project out of CS as well. I can get a project out of EF in 6 turns. Between those two projects I get 82 points, so that puts me at a nominal 290 points for a 13 to GS. So...no, I'm probably not getting Darwin, which sucks. I need to finish 3 projects, so I would have to get another project out from VV. That would give me a 9 turn Darwin and likely still fails to catch Pin if he wants him. However, I can run those projects and simply buy Darwin with gold. The cost is 200 plus 150 gold for each turn I need to make up. So 2 projects completed with 6 turns point production means 350 points saved, need to buy out 70 points, so 1350 gold.

I would only have 1000 gold in hand. 7 turns production saves 100 gold and gives 10 points, not quite close enough as I'd be 100 gold short. But a resource harvest would basically give me 300 gold, so I could run 2 projects, harvest something then buy Darwin. Problem: Only resource currently in borders that could be harvested is the crab at SS.

So...there is an option here, to buy a crab tile and then harvest it for a net gold surplus, buy a great person and roll hat into a 1K tech deficit (basically, Darwin would get me to Infantry at the cost of 2 banks and 3 upgraded swords, whilst I put actual beakers towards other tech. Or I could just leave it up to Pindicator to take Darwin, rush to tanks and steam roll us all.

I actually quite like that second option, because if Pin rushes for Darwin I'm screwed anyway and can't stop him, and this plan would only work if Pin half arsed it. Pin doesn't half arse things. I'd rather spend the gold on getting new cities up to scratch if Pin has peaceful intentions. And if I start being hostile I'm only reinforcing the idea that steam rolling me is a good plan. I need to actually grow those spammed cities. So I'll prep to grab one of the second GS, all of the Ind or Modern era GS seem useful, even Mendeleev because I can't see how I'm going to get a research agreement to boost Chemistry.

Thinking about what I could spend 1000 gold on, I'd quite like to, you know, actually get that second bank for the eureka for Economics, or a third university up for the extra 8 science per turn. Probably the bank, because I don't think I could build it in time anymore because I've gone for another round of builders. So actually Darwin is probably not worth the rush. I'll build two projects in case that just steals him from Pin, but I won't buy him. That allows me to use the walls overflow from CS to finish most of the first Bank

Possibility I get the turn back tonight, may be able to get an update with pictures done as I finish Mercantilism and I'm ready to progress into the Ind era for civics.

Long and short of it is that unless Pin is prebuilding units but not completing them, I don't think he attacks at the end of the alliance. Jester the same. Alhambram...I'm not sure what he does, but he has a good chunk of units guarding against Pin. I've not been tracking tech or civics for the other players, so I think I'm about to be rudely awakaned to just how far Pin has managed to push.

I'm going Colonialism next, will get to 1 turn from completion to finish Limes Chops then grab the two envoys. Complete 2 more envoys naturally in 8 turns, plus finish an Acropolis eot plus another in 6 turns. Lisbon killed a barb quadrieme I was going to use for the Naval Tradition inspiration, bastards. All builders will complete over the next 2 turns, so realistically Serfdom can come out with Colonialism as well. I'll drop two envoys into Zanzibar for the amenities as well, see if Al has two spare.




Triangular trade is in, Conscription is out, once I resent the 7th trade route it's slightly more gold plus the faith. Serfdom will be out with Colonialism and so will be Limes. Potentially Conscription back in but probably cut for a production card and Natural Philosophy for Serfdom. Potentially, Merchant Confederation in place of Charismatic leader as by that point it will not delay the next two envoys.





No moves from Pin, but he is preparing to upgrade two catapults for bombards. Checking that regularly as that is his timeline for Rough Riders.





I would love to send a trade route to Kumasi, but I'm in the process of repositioning all of them for roads. The new trade route will go from Equus Asinus to SS, to create a coastal road, and I will send on from Hordium to SS as well to create a road in that area of the map. Beyond that, still figuring out roads.

I decided to buy one builder in Alces because otherwise I would stay in Limes for too long, but after that I don't think I'll make any further builders unless Pin is building to victory. And with DotF who could stop him? In a duel I'd concede, in a 3 player game neither losing player moves first because they have heavy lifting and just help the third party. So hopefully I play out a peaceful game and watch Pin tech to the stars.

Do you think Pin will be allowed (either by yourself or Alhambram) to peacefully tech to the stars or will someone go nuclear first?
