Looks like this is going to happen anyway. Rusten seems confident in being able to stop Mack soonish, but I guess Mack is at least going to force a bunch of whips and ancient-era military builds.
I personally hope Rusten holds a grudge and drags Mack back, but that's pretty much just rooting for the underdogs. Would be nice to see Mack as something other than an invincible juggernaut...

Interesting to see how this is turning out. So Mac's in the driver's seat versus Rusten? Wonder how many players factor in a conquest economy. I wish Mac would post more because I'm guessing that taking a capital might give enough capture gold to speed him to Currency.
Is Old Harry dropping the diplo ball? Or doing the smart thing and going builder? William stayed at war and effectively signaled and got a 2 on 1 started. Old Harry's passed up opportunities to put his declared adversaries into the same position. He probably could have boated OT4E's city but looks to have refrained (while generating negative goodwill) and without showing support or encouraging GermanJoey. He also could have put pressure on William and reduced his ability to snipe at Elkad (although this seems a far less effective move).

Right, and neither is Mack, which is why I want them to get into a mutual expensive stalemate, letting the rest of the field catch up a bit. Also why they probably won't oblige me .

I think Mack called it, Rusten and he will be locked for the rest of the meaningful portion of the game and TBS will win.

I think it was this:
mackoti Wrote:I lost 3 axes and one HA to kil 2 axes, 1 spear, 1 archer in hill city with 20%.
Which would leave Mackoti with a surviving invasion force of 3 HA's and 2 chariots, presumably all wounded to some degree. He's got considerably more than that but not on the front line.

I think they're talking about Wowee Zowee. Haven't seen a map from mack, but Rusten posted this a turn ago:
(May 8th, 2018, 07:48)Rusten Wrote: Based on the number of units near me I imagine mackoti is #1 power right now. He seems pretty committed to this. It's only T85 and he sent 4 HAs, 4 axes and 3 chariots on me out of nowhere. He's settled very few cities of his own. I will drop a city this turn, no way around it. It's on a hill with culture and 4 units defending, but he has the numbers. I decided to stay and defend because he'll lose more hammers attacking it than I am defending it and it will slow down any further moves.
The real worry is that Aretas is green and did not chop his forests, so mackoti has near unlimited production. I thought having him near me was a blessing, but it's turned into a curse.
Not sure if mack kept or razed the city.
It looks to me that Mack could probably go forward some more, but he might not have the information to know that. I guess it depends on how wounded his units are and how well Rusten has been doing at whipping and repositioning, which is also unknown.

Lurkers love blood, so...when will be the time ?

If I post that in Rusten's thread does it have the potential to impact the game? I am very curious but don't want to influence events...
