Plako is spiking hard. I'm going to be nervous for Gavagai if I don't see him kill a thing by next turn.

F5 puts power graph into context, you never do know just how much is from pop and buildings.

Thanks for the screenshot.

I've been investing some in barracks, which is more than Plako can say. Combat 1 gives my Praetorians odds on anything in a city. The rough bit if going to be massing my forces,

So alarming stuff this turn. Plako is very very keyed in, and won a great general last turn. Gavagai is still at war, but it's a hard fight now. He lost at least 10XP of stuff (imperialistic fighting in-territory) and is coming up short in the war weariness exchange. It's not lethal, but I'd call it an even match now. So let's unbalance stuff.

Tikwanku is sexy, but make no mistake, the first key target must be Ollantaytombo. The map's perverse "one horse per player" policy can really bite Plako here; if I can even just get off a raze of this city then he's blocked from making his best unit, and we can confidently walk around without fog fears. If Gavagai remains resolute and TBS/Pindicator avoid hitting either one of us in the rear, I think we can kill Plako. Profitability remains an open question.

Wish we had GermanJoey here rather than Plako. Joey is playing eight minute turns while OT4E walks all over him. I'm glad it's not Mackoti or TBS he's gifting his empire to, that would deny us the legitimately awesome showdown between those two.

Dang, that's an impressive list of bonuses negated by the simple expedient of having a much higher base strength...

Oh yeah. Praetorians are awesome units. Sadly, the first combat 1 praetorian did die, but he mauled the archer, leaving an axe as top defender. Hai chariot time.

Then at 99.5% the next praetorian pops in, and welcome BONESTEEL to the family. Plako's second oldest city is mine. And I even kept the granary. hammer

As you might have noticed above, I turned on tech. Highest GNP in the world right now as I four-turn Machinery. Trebuchets backing up praetorians? You cannot fight that in cities. I just hope that Gavagai remains resolute in the face of Plako's undoubtedly tough resistance. Persist buddy! I'm going to let you take the Great Lighthouse! I'm just going to go gut the horse archer supply here...

Annoying village on the silks where you see my chariot. I pillaged down to hamlet now; if Plako doesn't pop the chariot this turn, I'll be able to double pillage with chariot and then finally break the road with the follow-up chariot 2N. I'll feel a lot more secure on that flank then.

Any questions?

Good time to be a lurker, then. No only this, and OT4E eating Joey, but Naufrager just kicked things off against AIT, capping a city.
