I am about to start my next war with B4ndit in a couple turns. Economy is in deep shit but first in power.
TBS is doing very well, 14 cities into Hanging Gardens around T80. If he is somewhere close to Mackoti, I may have a chance. Otherwise, Mackoti will win.

Plako is insane. I am taking over B4ndits land right now and Plako is settling right inside my freshly conquered territory:
And this is while power graph looks like this:
I really don't know what he expects me to do now. Graciously engage in early game culture war with Inca?
I am very frustrated because I do not understand what the fuck is wrong with him, he is supposed to be shrewd. Someone hacked his account? He thinks someone hacked my account?

War with Plako. Nasca is doomed but after that he should be able to stabilize. He got a tech this turn, it got to be HBR. The thing is, he has a lot of information about my army and knows exactly what he is up against. There should be a reason for his impudence.
Observe silver at the very bottom. I need it badly. My cities are pressed against happy caps and I have no immediate means to improve the situation. Monarchy could help me as I have wines but my economy is shit and my next tech has to be HBR, thanks to Plako situation. But Huamanga has Great Lighthouse in it which makes connecting this silver and holding to it rather tricky. Razing Huamanga would be the best possible outcome of this war but it's a long shot. I kind of hope for Commodore to join in. Together we can make something good to happen.
As I am skeptical about the situation in the south, I am going to open the second front here. Next turn I'll be able to threaten this city with five WCs. If it has only one spear, it will most likely fall.

Aha. This is what Plako had up his sleeve and this is how he planned to tame me. He, actually, offered a peace treaty for Byblos to indicate that this is his bargaining chip.
Well, he is fucked if it is all he's got. Byblos is defended by 2 WCs, an archer and a sword against two axes, two spears and an archer. He can even raze it if he is exceptionally lucky on rolls, though I find it unlikely he will take such a risk. But if it happens, I am ok with that. He will lose this stack and his whole northern front will just collapse. I have three cities nearby which produce a WC every two turns (at worst) each. It would be hard for Plako to sustain this kind of pressure.
(The unpronouncable city has an axe and a quecha in it and I expect him to dry-whip a spear. Not taking it next turn as I have only three WCs ready to attack it.)
The situation in the south. I razed Nasca after I took this picture and moved my units into a forest 1N from his stack. The plan is to move SW next turn and, if the city is too well-protected, move further south-west to threaten Plako's Great Lighthouse city.
I really want Commodore to pile in. If he does it, Plako may just collapse.

Can anyone reading this help me with a working copy of Civ4 combat calculator? The link in this thread: http://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/showt...p?tid=4212 is dead.

Peace with Plako. I waited until Commodore declares on him and cashed out, taking from Plako 70 gold.
I, however, have a much, much more burning question to discuss. Why B4ndit had only 2 land neighbors while I had 4? Not that I am against it but we are playing on a toroidal map exactly to prevent this kind of things from happening. I hate toroid maps but for me (and, I am sure, for many others) neighbor balance was always a decisive argument for playing on them.
Now, we are playing on a toroid map and the number of neighbors is very blatantly off balance. The fuck? Seriously, the fuck? Why are we playing on a toroid then? It's a fraud, that's what it is.
Keeping this in mind, it is rather funny that mine and B4ndit's capitals are identical for practical purposes. Mapmakers do know where their priorities should lie when they do balance.

And a rule question which I do not dare to ask in tech thread. Am I correct that infiltration missions with a Great Spy are kosher in RtR games? Because in BTS they were banned alongside with the whole active espionage thing.

I think that's right, the opportunity cost is considered to be high enough.
