Thank you. The wet rice also helped in noticing this.

PB38 Spoiler
I hope so to. But I don't want to complain, I like the more natural approach.

T5:
The borders popped. The west of my capitol looks a bit more promising for a second city, but I want to wait for further exploration. There are more seafood down south of my capitol and if you look closely there is a spot of land just 1S of the crab. But exploration of this or even settling this can wait for later.
Back at my scout there is more desert. I marked a spot where I may move to next so that I uncover the 2 tiles 1E and 1SE of this sign. If I'm not mistaken then the oasis has a higher movement cost. Unfortunately in the south of this tile there are more hills and forests, so scout movement will slow down for the next turns.

You are getting a warrior out of the capital after the builder? You could use that warrior to poke around the marble so that your scout can go further west now and then start doubling back counterclockwise.

That's true. The warrior should arrive at T19. Initially I wanted to use the warrior to explore a bit more in the east. I will take a look under the fog in the east and around me scout when I'm home. So far I don't see our second city going east, so this could be a good move.

I think it's more valuable to confirm our surroundings over the intelligence we might gather from having a few extra turns headed further west.
I'll start looking at a secondary plan.

If the only food at the marble is a forest hills spice: that is cruel. Because right now I'm thinking we'll end up planting on the marble.
Sailing also moves up in the priority list. We want a galley and a settler out ASAP to plant that crabs resource. 2c trade routes for the win!

Checking out the demographics: someone moved their capital and planted on turn 1. Also, a really interesting choice for production on T5. Someone went from working 4 hammers per turn to 5 food and 3 hammers. Really strange.

I've gazed underneath the fog and this is what I could see:
The area west of my scout does not look that habitable. But back to cornflakes suggestion to move more into the west and explore the marble area with a warrior later. I decided to move as planned and this is my reasoning:
- If I move west immediately I would like to explore the area SW of the two mountains
- Doing that would require to move through the desert oasis and a hill.
- Moving as planned also has to go trough 2 hills.
- I really would like to know more about the eastern tiles for city placement
- I could move 1W and use the non-hill desert to move faster, but then I would totally neglect the SW

I was thinking about settling 1SE of the marble. That way I could use the corn from the capitol and help in cottage growth there. This could also be a decent production cit. The capitol won't miss the corn that much, it still has pig, sugar and crab.

Oh, yes, I didn't think about that.

Yeah, I also found that very strange.

Oh and nice to see that the spreadsheet is used. Would you like to have write rights, too, Zalson?
