I would love to play again. Sorry to hear that you got burned out, Dave. After looking at the starts I can really see your frustration... your start was by far the worst considering happiness. I think the mapscript tends to give certain resources to certain civs. Like Hippus had a lot of AH resources, Luchuirp wines/gems...
Mirrored map next?

The Luchuirp actually had neither wine nor gems when I rolled the map; it was the only start I edited significantly, since it looked much worse than the others.
I'm interested in playing, although I'm happy to give the seat to anyone else who wants in. Fair warning that my work schedule means I doubt I can do better than a turn a day most of the time, and there may be rare occasions where I miss a day. I won't take offense if you want to drop me for that reason.
I believe Brian Shanahan had expressed some interest in joining a game as well.

a Turn a day is just fine as far as I'm concerned, what we've managed to do is a bit abnormal. So welcome

I don't mind going again, though we really need to think a bit more about what kind of settings we want, as in retrospect the map really didn't work out that well. A standard Pangaea might be better for the next game.
A slower turn pace will probably be inevitable as there's a chance I'll be a lot more busy about a month from now, so Bob's schedule shouldn't really impact anything.

Yeah, I definitely agree with a pangaea map this time around.

You can play Bob, 1t/day is enough and even if there are misses that's still okay... considering the amount of players willing to play EitB games is fairly small there's absolutely no reason to be too picky. I'd rather play slower than not play at all if that makes sense
Pangaea sounds good to me. Shall we roll a random map or... ? Mirrored too boring for you guys?

Mirrored would require the least effort to balance, even if it isn't as interesting. Are resources and features (hills, forests, rivers) mirrored exactly in the script? I've never used it before.

I could generate a map and do a little balance checking, but I would need more definition: - Size (remember, a small map favors the military civs, a big map favors the economic ones)
- Unique features?
- Blessings of Amathaon (extra bonus tiles)?
- Living world (extra events)?
- Climate?
I generated a few maps, and I prefer a single-landmass fractal to pangaea, but I'm not playing and I'll use the agreed map type.

Mirrored balances everything exactly. If there are 4 players it'll generate 4 similar areas and put them together.

Thanks, Dave!
My votes:
Size: standard which makes about ~800-900 tiles for 4 players... small would make that around 500-600 which might be too small.
Unique features: sure (not the one that brings Gargoyles to the map) but I don't care if others don't want them (I think they're just cool)
Blessing of Amathaon: That means more lush map, right? Works for me.
Living world: sure
Climate: prefer temperate
Any map type is fine for me as long as I know it before I send my picks...
