Those folks dutifully playing turns may find they enjoy their time spent on a shiny, new, less hopeless game with better turnpace and some hope of conclusion. And a smaller, more playable map. The map was great, but it's just too much work to manage mid-to-late game empires on a map this large. This has been said already, by me as well as others, but I think this is a key contributing factor to the problem.
I'll give it a few more hours and then post in the tech thread if no one objects in the interim.

Map was great, other than not sticking me next to aretas, and like.. B4ndit.. :P Id agree with the consensus that this game is done.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Looks like just about everyone has played this turn. Let's let the turn roll and then call it. If TBS starts to take forever again we can make the call then.

So,...both 3rd place and 4th place seem interested in playing on in the hopes of an upset. I think that OH took 6 cities in the last 2 turns (in addition to burning a couple).
And then there's this:

Let's win!
I got this turn. Pindi, hold my beer.
And then there's the Xenu cultural victory which the onerous is on Mackoti to defeat while simultaneously dealing with a TBS power level near rivaling his own.

It's ultimately pointless if several people are habitually delayed playing the turn. I suppose the time has come.

Yeah, the frustrating part is that the outcome isn't decided, not to the point where I'd claim there's a victor...but most people aren't having fun, so what's the point in continuing?

Hey guys I just want to say thanks for all the fish.
Map was amazing now that I see it whole. It is unfortunate that the game gets called but it was also pretty clearly a battle for 2nd at this point and the management of these huge empires is always the least fun part of Civ. We just got there quicker. Without quickly moving turns it's just impossible.
