That was a quick one turn of tech; our epics are online already.

You mean you already had Lit, or you literally one turned both epics after one turning Lit?

We finally grabbed Lit right before getting Engineering. The epics were relatively quick builds and I think HE finished a few turns back, and NE just finished this last turn.
I think next up is Civil Service? I didn't jump in the game this turn to see what Commodore decided, but that's my guess based on what we were talking about before. There's a couple spots that have been waiting on irrigation chaining for the longest time. After that we want to pick up civic requirements for our next Golden Age, which is probably ... 30 turns away. (Yikes, that's painful and I don't know if there's any way to speed it up at this point. But that's why I had been whining about Lit and great person generation for so long!) So in that time we need to pick up Theology, Banking, Nationalism, and aim towards Constitution.

God i hate working Saturdays when they're testing software upgrades. The whole testing process is just a shit show: nobody knows what they're supposed to be doing, instructions are never clear, the system is hanging out down half the time, and the person who is supposed to be coordinating everyone just speaks their frustration out loud instead of actually trying to coordinate people.
Had to get that off my chest. Now it's back to whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing right now

Are you doing the software updates, or are you just trying to work whilst someone else does the updates?

Oh they want me to do both. But you can't be in the test environment and the regular production environment at the same time

I'm still pretty sure Gav's table is flipped towards BGN, not Rusten, but they made peace. The world is actually shockingly peaceful right now.
In terms of game, I think it's unfortunately purely Rusten or us now. I'd love to say high-tech Cairo is still in it, but unless he's got a plan to double his city count soon...

Let's talk Hendricks:
The city is currently at size 12 and can support 4.5 specialists per turn. That's worse than I guessed when I said 30 turns for our next GA. We need 1,212 GP points in order to get our next golden age, and at 4.5 specialists we're looking at 42 turns to get there.
Once Civil Service comes in we can turn the 3 grassland workshops into farms and then the city will be able to work the Corn, Fish, 3 grass farms, and have +13 food, enough to support 6.5 specialists. If we had that now then our GA is 30 turns away. But realistically it's going to take 3 turns to research Civil Service and then it will take 5 turns for the 3 workers at Johnson to lay down all the needed farms, so we're probably something like 33 turns away as of now. I wish that was closer to 20.
Things we can do:
Hendricks doesn't need to worry about food any more. We have enough population now to work all 5 food generating tiles (after CS farms) and 6.5 specialists. Growing onto ocean tiles isnt' worth it. I took the liberty of swapping the 2f1c ocean tile over to one of the grass workshops and one of the coast tiles over to the plains workshop because we'll grow in 4 turns regardless and the hammers are more important.
Build the Great Wall. This will take 10 turns and get us another 4gpp. It will also knock a few turns off the due date for our next golden age. This step I haven't taken on my own, but I'm confident it's still correct.
In other news, 5 castles finish at end of turn, good for about 21c more coming in end of turn.
