I would hope that he does not do that. I mean, no matter for what reasons athlete acted like he did, for me it would really seem absolutely wrong if they would work together. Inca was attacked from athlete, they got peace and Inca gifted units which athlete now uses to betray Inca and attack them again. How could Inca possible even think about having an alliance with athlete again?

If Inca is playing for a win, peace and an alliance with Ottomans is unavoidable else India runs so far ahead that they can take on the whole world. Is it going to happen? We will see at least sooooo is adult enough to stay calm and view it for what it is - a game.

We'll see if it works out for him. Essentially the problem is that he can't expand even when he has the resources to do so, and if he didn't do anything, then India would just keep increasing their lead and sooner or later become unbeatable. It's a bold move, but it's too early to say if it was the right or the wrong move. Slaze, however, has no-one but himself to blame.

His attack now costs him an ally, marks him as untrustworthy and earns him a nice 2-border-war in the future. With that move his chances to win Korea for his side (which he absolutly needs if he want to have a chance vs India) are diminished.
He is now situated between India which have a secure second Border, a disliking for him and are superior in civ and military skills and Inca who most likely will bear a grudge against him and try to get revenge and additional he has Korea to his north which have currently the better navy, strong research and thanks to the break down of Rome a nice powerfull landbase. Not to speak that Korea and India have a strong bond between them. So that leaves HRE as possible ally and counting on their military support is a surefire way to disaster.

If Soooo allies with A4L based on the games they have played before and the fact that Sooo wants to win...I don't think India has a right to complain. They could have done reasearch.

It is hard to turn down three free cities no matter what.

I agree that it isn't unreasonable for Inca to avoid diplomacy for X turns after taking over.

I estimate that happened ~50 turns ago I'm surprised after playing in the game and then reading the spoiler threads Jowy still thinks the game is close. I suppose for lurking fun I hope he is right.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but Sullla's reply in the IT thread that they would prefer Slaze to carry on but would accept Soooo, might indicate he is concerned about what Soooo could do. All specualation I know, but hey, that's part of the fun.

Huh, I'm nowhere close on having read the spoiler threads. I've started Sullla's, on about page 30. Would have started with yours but I was scared away by the post count And yep, I don't think Spullla is unbeatable. Why would I have ever attacked if I thought so! But certainly it's looking less and less likely that someone will even have a good shot against them. Even better reason to make bold moves.

Sorry Jowy, I assumed you had read more than you have. Feel free to save ours of last...not a lot of info that impacts the game at this point, though you may find some requests for metal

Anyways, to clarify, I don't think S+S was unbeatable when you attacked. I do think by the turn Rome DOW'd they more or less were.

Exclude S+S for Cuban Isolationists/rockstar reasons, and I think the numbers are pretty much inverse to number of posts right? I assume many lurkers check the forums once per day, some less often. That sort of checking favors teams that post less often. Smaller factors are that teams eliminated earlier don't get to have as meaty diplo, and that teams that IM a lot move a lot of the most interesting discussions either out of the thread or into boring chat transcript form.
