Hey, if that's true than I can super-pad my RBP1 post count by posting the same transcripts I assume regoarrarr (and maybe Dreylin and Broker) is posting in his own thread

Also consider both regoarrarr and myself make individual posts on each topic, rather than one big post to address multiple issues. We'd make 5 or 6 posts in a row over a 10 minute span, and they'd net the same "single" view that one massive post would have garnered.

What's up with all the influencing posts in the spoiler threads? In Athlete's, people are making him feel guilty, while in Slaze's people are giving him hope and encouraging him to "give Athlete hell". Just keep it here guys.

I'm normally in the "fewer spoilers" camp (I hope), but haven't "good job" type posts always been allowed? How is saying "we're rooting for you" a spoiler? What does it spoil exactly?
Remember, we don't want to rule away all posts in a players thread, do we?

Some in Athletes may have been slightly iffy as it could have influenced his decision and changed his mind on the backstab (though highly unlikely)
What's wrong with the ones in slaze's though? We are just saying go for it and good job because we want to show support for him. Its not like he doesn't know what's coming or we're telling him anything he doesn't already know!

I agree. In my response to Jowy I should have made that distinction too. Yelling at Athlete could affect the game, but saying "good luck" to Slaze? Is that supposed to make him not quit? If so, isn't that like the best spoiler ever? I guess it could "spoil" that Athlete didn't have some secret awesome non-evil reason to attack him, but if we're going that far afield we should bad all posts.

in slaze's instance the encouragement can only be beneficial for the larger game in the sense that consistent players is always more desirable.
As for browbeating athlete I don't see it as spoiling but I do see it as somewhat hurtful and unhelpful. Although i agree with the sentiment, telling him so doesn't change anything, just makes him feel bad which is not the point of the game.
As for the larger concept of encouragement/derision, It's like the crowd cheering or booing. They're not really saying anything in terms of game details and the only way you can get rid of it entirely is to ban the crowd.
That tiny amount of spectator influence on the psyche of the player is part and parcel with any spectator game, only insofar as the players allow the cheering or booing to affect them. If it's unacceptable, player threads should be read-only for all but the players because even technical questions can have undertones of approval or disapproval.

After looking at Slaze's latest post, I think he should be fine. Athlete's stack is big, but most of the units will have TERRIBLE odds versus CG2 longbows behind culture. Athlete has 10 cats. Once those are burned off it will cost Athlete several units per longbow, and Slaze still has slots of pop he can whip.

Athlete has a big stack of horse archers out of sight and he is going for guilds. It may be far worse than Slaze realises.

he's got what, 20 turns or so before sullla finishes his precious oxford and sicks Speaker on him?
Not to mention that I wouldn't put it past sullla to use this war to his advantage and hasten his plans if he gets word that the bulk of athlete's forces are tied up far from the Indian border.
