RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

Looked trough their thread and if I did not overlook something they have a NAP with athlete till turn 205. That makes 25 turns before they could go to war with athlete.

From my pov I would imagine that slaze abandons his cities back to his capitol and that athlete will take those and then threaten slaze with his stacks so he can get peace with at least still 5 to 10 turns till the NAP with India runs out. Enough time to reposition his army.

And that again unsecure border to athlete might even get India in the position to reconsider an attack on Nakor.

If they really hadn't considered it then it might have caused them to tell Dantski, which would have helped him. But it was pretty obvious that they were intentionally not telling him. I was just curious if there was any motive beyond distrust.

Yes, you where right. "Helping" a rivial civilazation is extremly unnatural (very much so for Spulla) so I thought they may have not considered it. I was wrong...I killed a kitten cry .

I wonder with whosit gifting those citys to dmoc/ nakor that spullla may ask for them to be gifted to Korea as rightful spoils of war or face a indian war party.

On another note, would you open Borders to HRE if you where in danskis or koreas position?? I know I would not.

In Whosit's defense, it's not like Korea could have gotten troops onto Centralia in a decent amount of time.

Spullla could still send a raiding party after those sites, but they might have to hit the long-standing HRE Centralia cities first.

Ahem....Byzantium....ahem...forced turn split.

I've always felt that rule changes are totally fine, so long as they aren't enforced retrospectively. Making a rule to handle a current situation is not fair when it kinda screws one team (yes, Byzantium), but making a rule to deal with something before it comes up again seems fine with me, because you can't possibly think of everything before the game starts.

That said, I don't think gifting away the last two cities is something that should be legislated against. If you don't like it, declare on the team that accepted the cities and deal with it in-game.

I agree with this, it's lame but it shouldn't be banned. In a way it makes the game more exciting to watch by giving me something else to boo at.

Exactly. If Speaker and Sullla had made it clear that they disapproved of the idea by capturing all of Jowy's cities, even the ones gifted away, then I doubt that Whosit would have even considered the move. By letting Jowy get away with it they established a precedent.
