Any pictures of your capital or an empire-wide screenie perhaps?

I'm sorry that this happened to you in this game, but I hoped you posted that picture. Had a great laugh.

...that's about it for my war though. Donovan retreated back to his capital, so he's just hunkering down for death now. I didn't feel like declaring war on Alhazard, so a raze:
Woo? Just wasteful.
It wasn’t my planned capital, but hey, here’s our capital KK. We’ll eventually have proper towns here, but don’t expect our economy to match Alhazard (Org) or Superdeath/Gavagai (Fin) in the long game. It’s a good enough place, though, and for what it’s worth this is the one city we own that isn’t coastal. I doubt it’ll last that long, but science victory on this map is Combustion.
I’m a generous and gregarious man of kindness. Here, have some more core cities. First and least interesting, the RNG Hate Crime that is OO. We want a market, of course, but we actually want the Apostolic Palace and theocratic promotions even more. I can’t spend too much time looking at this city, I just get mad. WHY DID YOU SPAWN HERE, ABRAHAM?
Squatting on the burned-out corpse of the glorious True Capital and its dead feeder, AA is an extremely nice city. Monarchy will allow this to actually get up to its proper size, a city that would be worth a palace and Bureaucracy in a magically fantasy game where we didn’t need to maintain a huge standing army at all times. Unfortunately…Vassalage will always be a better economy choice. Might palace this for Bureau dips later, assuming we last five turns after Mongolia owns knights.
Finally, for completeness, MM is definitely a city that exists. I kind of want to do a feasibility study on Moai here, would pay itself in 14 turns assuming maxed growth and then MM would actually have hammers beyond painful lighthouse lake-fed whips. This beautiful nightmare map, man.
Behold, you can have it all; my empire of dirt. It will let you down, it will make you hurt. A pair of grass-fed guardian cities are going down up north. Stone is big for Moai, walls, and keeping Pindicator’s heart full of dreams. Desert hill is big for making the inevitable Alhazard Mongolian Knight Push slightly more costly.
This game is crazy-slow. Blood-drenched, low food…I’d love to watch it to be honest. I think our fourth place showing is very evident from a look at the demographics and victory screen. I have a lot of faith in Gavagai, but it’s going to be hard to outlast Superdeath in this situation, much as Egypt has profited from its eating of Chumchu.
Any questions?

Why no horse units? Had a few chariots, all went splat for this or that; cutting roads in his lands mostly.
We lack access to horse archers by dint of not having yet figured out Horseback Riding.

Perhaps not meddled in my affairs. Commodore, your Copper gift to RegentMan came at the wrong time for me and forced me to look elsewhere. The Powergraph at the time made it official.
That was the only spite I had for you and I got a lucky roll on your capital. If you check out Zulan one day, you'll see that there was a whole 15 minutes between the conquest and the raze. One of my rare posts explained my reasoning for eventually doing so. I do have somewhat of a conscience, after all.
From there, I was pretty much just spinning plates to stay alive, which is why you saw the occasional stack from time to time to counter what you were sending my way. Or seeing if I could force peace. It definitely wasn't personal and had nothing to do with less than charitable assessments from you I get to read about me after our games together (I always laugh, truly. I am a good sport!). You were only seeing a percentage of my forces at any given time (except the first).
I may write up some of my game to showcase how NOT to Horcher rush, or play a poor man's OT4E game. Sorry I had to ruin yours in the process, but was just not a fan of the imperialism. I promise not to meta future games, so I hope we're cool.

All along the watchtowers:
These are forts. There is a great chance that Alhazard didn't take enough damage to warrant stopping and he pushes on immediately but walls next EoT should help.

Thanks for sharing your reasoning DZ. While I still may not agree with your choices, we seriously were thinking you must have had a personal grudge because we couldn't fathom what it could have been. I guess there's a certain amount of realpolitik I have come accustomed to in these games as far as resources gifting, so much that it gave me blinders to how you would have reacted.
Looking forward to your thread and getting more insight after our eventual release from this game. But it seems very risky to split forces in these position you were in, so I ask a little skeptical of its merits.
And certainly, no hard feelings!
