reading through this thread is a real adventure. you write a truly staggering amount. I liked the writeup of the rationale for the naval rework
also krill boak is spectating this game and playing in mine so I'm not sure how much I can spill the dirty details of my civ in this venue. he's admittedly real far away so arguably it's fine

Turn 019
Thinking about this a little bit more...maybe 2NW would have just been quicker and yet good enough. Spent half a turn scouting to uncover two more tiles, OTOH, pretty sure there is no land bridge down there due to seeing the coast along the two tiles I did uncover.
Rusten is the player at size 3. He will stop now to put more hammers into a worker, and I expect him to whip it. Izzy, after all.

You're welcome. This isn't much though, PB5 amassed 250,000 words, most of them redundant. I'm trying to be more succinct but I don't know if I'm being successful.

Juri, Krill's not saying that you should talk about your BGPB12 game here. (and also, he said PB47, not PB46)
By the way, a "dedlurker" at RB is basically like being a teammate. It's like what I'm doing here; the main turnplayer is Krill, but I'm here to propose/discuss/argue/mock/sigh-and-shake-my-head-at various decisions along the way. He was saying you should join his team for PB47, as that way he'd post more about his decision-making process and such (and you'd be able to ask questions about them). You would learn a lot that way.

That location you just found makes me wonder if that was *our* starting spot, and *we* got moved...
p.s. send the scout northward already! I wanna know what's to the west of that stupid plains cow!

i havent read any RBPB47 threads so that'll work
btw, what are the tells of a starting spot that you guys are using to speculate about the location you found being a former starting spot?

You make a good point. We have no way of know if it was us.
The north will be scouted by the new scout, so it'll be another 15 turns until we see what is north west of the plains cow, as either of our scouts returns through that area to help guard the workers. The current scout goes west to find neighbours or a coastline.

Why do you care about the late game, you'll have lost your interest in this game well before then .

You don't know what challenges a late game holds because you're always a lurker by that point.
Another classic withering rejoinder from Krill ![nod nod](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif) .

Turn 020
Found the western coast.
The question is now, do we check out what looks to me to be a real land bridge, or go north? It would take until T26 to get this scout ( now called Cavendish) back to protect the workers, which means we can move it 10 tiles east before we hit an absolute limit and would have to use the new scout ( now called Gilbert) to protect the workers. And that's not counting barb issues fucking it all up.
My thoughts: Play it turn by turn. We can afford to move Cavendish W - NW onto the forest hill to look a bit further, and then decide to pull back or not.
As an aside, I've just bought my wife a 34" ultra-widescreen monitor, so once I get that set up I'll make a new world map. Probably Monday. I wonder if the new resolution breaks anything.

You should play in a game. You haven't played one since, what, PBEM17?
