I could've held off on my turn and been second, nothing fundamentally changes. Me waiting till the end fo the turn, logging in, declaring, would have changed nothing about this situation.

I dont understand the point about being a tile closer to heal? I'm closer to my territory, but farther from the goal of getting my trireme thru MSCC to pillage and circumnavigate.

I also feel like my stupidity is being used as a pretext by Cairo to reload and get better RNG on the attack performed by MSCC (assuming we don't have preserve random seed, and even then, changing the order of actions taken should nullify that)

Also, this is literally one galley that would've been sunk either way (unless, of course, Cairo had used his turn to retreat, impossible if I had attacked first). I get this is a mistake on my part, but had there been actual forces invloved or this been a more serious wardec, I would've taken more precautions.

Just to reiterate, in case I'm being unclear, there's no double move involved here. I could've attacked before or after he moved, everything occurred on the same turn. Double moving is about gaining an advantage from being able to move more tiles than possible in a PBEM or single player via a literal double move.

To be clear, what you did is considered a double move. You played T97 after Cairo, and T98 before. You should not have played T98 at all until after he had played if you wanted to declare war on him. By playing T98 before him you gave up the opportunity to declare war on him on T98, but gained the opportunity to play T99 before him and declare war then.

I get what you're saying up to a point. If, following your logic here, I gain the opportunity to play before him, what in effect changes? he cannot move the galley any additional tiles or do anything with it, the situation is, in effect, static.

Edit: Yea, i guess it is a double move, just of a different sort? Still very confusing in this situation, and still in my opinion wholly irrelevant in terms of the forces involved and the fact there could only be one outcome.

Also, I think it's pretty important to consider that this reload would come in conjunction with Cairo having lost a city, and would like to hear your thoughts on the implications of that. (This was exactly the city that, in order to bypass, I had to do a wardec, so unfortunate on all ends really)

I'd just prefer a reload not happen in this situation, but if necessary so be it, I won't protest because I see more or less how I am in the wrong here.

In this situation, you do not know what other players actions would be between you declared war on T98, and when you would declare war on T99, and the effects of those actions. That is an effect that you, as a player, are not able to gauge.

Cairo would not have been able to log in between those turns if I were to hypothetically claim the first half of T99. So there could not have been any actions on his part, period.

I'm not talking about Cairo, I'm talking about the other players in the game.

If you are at war with someone don't log in before/after they've played unless they have given you explicit permission. (Edit: Controversy! See thread for details...)
Try to only log in once per turn, or play all your moves in one session - this is harder for teams or if you have a surprise or simming to do, but it makes figuring out turn splits easier.

I hope I haven't pissed Mr. Cairo off so much so that he refuses to sign peace. Doubly unfortunate when MSCC has a 170 point score lead over me and 290 over the next competitor only on turn 98, with a city count of 13 last checked. (Compared with our 9)
