No problem, Krill. I'll need the password.

When I play, I'll post screenies with where barbs are and where your sentries are. I'll try to do that in the morning, east coast time. I'll plan on doing that tues and wed morning for turns 75 and 76 and, assuming the turn extends, let you play from then on.

Let me know if you aren't able to get to the turn in the morning.

As to reports:

My only issue is that there is so much detail, my guess is that people skim over a lot and miss the high level of what you are doing - how many cities, what you are worried about (well, obviously barbs wink, stuff like that. That might be useful. I dunno if others feel that way, too.

Post a shot of the tech tree occasionally maybe. It's pretty clear where you're going in a general sense but a visual recap is nice from time to time.

Turn 074

Things look to be calming down a little, but will heat up the moment a barb axe appears.

T75: Unit moves in order: Cavendish will move SW and if not adjacent to any barb units, will then skip the remainder of the turn. Axe1 is likely to move NW. Warrior8 movements depend on the barb warriors: If the barb in the fog moves onto the forest hill, and the western barb moves onto the grassland then warrior 8 and Yeld can move onto the plains forest, otherwise both move back into the city.

I don't have Mysticism. Archery is a one turn tech at below 100% research.

Right now I'm trying to worry about the things I can control. I can't control Rusten and OH racing for the CY lead, but I can try to keep up. I can't control who lands Mids, but I can manage my own tech rate.

I picked a leader/Civ combo that has power spikes in the mid to late Medieval era, and again from late Renaissance. I still believe that I was forced into the England, but I am under no illusion that I could have picked many other leaders. I do think that for this start Hannibal was right, and Vicky lacked the long term benefits. There is an argument that denial has value, but I expect to see that OH and Rusten paired granary civs with an early game trait, yet a good chunk of their current lead is down to having more and better food resources, that were accessible without border pops. There are two other players ahead of me in crop yield, but I can't tell who they are. But why worry? This is a long game, and I have plans to catch up, a northern neighbour whom I've already overtaken despite having EXP/Rome and probably a western neighbour that has not yet reached me with a scout yet.

Ok, that is disingenuous because I haven't scouted him out yet, but that's because of barbs. But I need to reach those players as I'm hitting a power spike: triple promo units through CHM is the obvious point, but others exist: double Astro bulb is another, but Machinery and Xbows could be a third.

So right now I'm getting to the point that I'm trying to set up borders, and I need to manage costs, balance city spamming and cottage growth with military to hold it. Being down 20fpt is not a death nell.

Turn 75 (AT for Krill)

This is from before movement.  Movement of Cavendish showed no further barbs, so he stayed where he is.

Cavendish moves SW 1, away from a barb warrior that was SE and is now 2E from Cavendish
Warrior8 and yeld into Scarrow Hill
Axe1 NW onto grass tile

WestMinster
Worker micro for Westminster says worker5, but worker5 isn't at westminster... worker3 and worker4 - worker4 is at the forest.  Worker3 Mines, worker4 chops. This does not clear the forest.  Did I screw up already?  Galley won't finish next turn, I don't think.
Gilbert moves NE-NE-NW-NE

Scarrow Hill
Workers chop
Warrior7 stays where it is, because it has no orders to move.

Workers1 and 2 roaded for Adlebergh

Westminster: it should work three mines, fish and rice and coast. How many turns does worker 4 show to complete a mine? The galley should complete this turn regardless of chop landing, but I want to check that worker4 has not accidentally skipped turn at some point.

Scarrow hill is set the library, correct? It then goes back to building a granary on T76. Owlthorpe should be set to worker, which it whips T76.

Warrior3, the warrior outside borders next to dye should promote W2 before the barb can attack it.

Yeld should move to the tile north west of the plains cow this turn, T75 as it has a clear route out.

AT, thank you for playing the turn for me, but at you able to make these moves before turn roll?

I played last night just so you could make corrections and I could play this morning wink

Worker4 has 5 turns left on mine, 2 on chop.
Westminster is now working 3 mines and the galley will finish this turn.
Scorrow Hill will finish the lib with the chops and overflow 17 hammers into the granary, which has 6 hammers in it now.
Warrior3 promoted to woody I

There is a sign on Owlthorpe saying Worker T75.  I had missed this, but I made the change.  I found some micro that said that it whipped on T76.

Does it go back to the spear?

I left research at 0%.
