Diplo/team pitboss?

Im heavily in favor of a Donut/pangaea style map. I also 2nd GKC. I want some islands ( pb39 ) but not archipelago..

Another note for settings: Are we wanting events on? Off? Do we want to use a Charriu Bug/rtr ?

Now that I'm not playing, you are free to use the BUG RtR version. Just be aware that in the case of a bug I may need to log into your game just like in PB47.

On Badgame we did an 11 person Donut map with toroidal wrap that was basically shaped like a wagon wheel with a big outer ring, land bridges to a smaller hub with a bunch of resources, and enough islands scattered around the outside to make sea techs relevant/give everybody opportunities to settle for internal ICTRs. It worked out pretty well, I think something like that would scale just fine for 6 players. I think starting areas where your capital has better food resources than dry plains wheat and plains cows are more fun too.

1) Do we want to allow sending screenshots to one another? I am in favor of allowing as it would simplify communication greatly.

2) I once played with limited tech trading house rule. It was no tech brokering as a game option but players were only allowed to transfer away a fixed amount of beakers (the limit increased at pre-defined dates). Worked out pretty well. Does anyone want to try?

Allow screenshots but only if map trading is also allowed?
Tech trading kicks in much later in Krill mod, so perhaps.

Gavagai Wrote:OK, gave it a bit more thinking and I think Pangea is preferrable, something like Big and Small with one massive continent and some islands. Easier to balance and more interactions between players.

Some islands are good, but not all polka dots please.

That sounds doable. B&S massive continent, spacious, with some islands but not polka dots. I'll [hopefully] have some time this weekend to roll a few maps, select the best, and post for lurker comments. Target Friday next week to get starting screenshots up so you can plan your starts over that weekend and snakepick while I do final tweaking on the map.

I'm in favor of allowing sending screenshots, leave it up to people to crop/censor them however they see fit. I wouldn't be opposed to trying out limited tech trading.

As mapmaker I would like to request a rule restricting players to either settle in place, or 1 tile in any direction. This will make balancing the wider starting area much easier.

Sounds good to me, and all the other stuff about screenshots and tech trading. At the very least turning off tech brokering in the game options.

I'd vote to balance the starts around everybody settling in place on a plains hill tile.
