AT took OB and is heading out with his Holkan. Glad to have two seemingly peaceful neighbors for now.
I also got graphs on AT. I'm #1 in every relevant demo against the other three players I've met.
Someone is at -34 in export-imports, which is like.. just feeding money to multiple trade route eco focus civs
Let's pray we get it. Otherwise the detour to MC slows us down, although Forges aren't exactly useless.

How is -34 even possible at this stage of the game??

It's crazy. And actually the number is now -42.
At worst (for us) Pindicator used Oracle to bulb Currency, and has Cothons built. That's two extra trade routes per city. 75% bonus from Pro, 75% from harbor, up to 150% from foreign trade routes.
Base is still max 1 at this stage. But even with that: 1 + 0.75 + 0.75 + 1.5 = 4 per trade route, and with 3 routes, that's 12 GPT. Since most of us are getting just 1 GPT from trade routes, that's 11 GPT increase per city.
I don't even think he's there yet, this isn't even his final form. Watch those numbers grow

Perhaps Charriu should add an export-import graph to the demographics charts, given the changes to protective and the fact a "trade route economy" is now a thing.

How to piss off your neighbor in 3 easy dots:
Pink can work 2 food, 3 plains hill mines, 3-4 coast, 2-4 grassland tiles (max size 10-13 production center, border city on plains hill)
Purple can work 1 food, 1 ivory camp, 6-9 coast, 1-3 grassland tiles (max size 10-15 fishing village)
Gray can work 1 food, 1 desert incense or 1 desert hill mine (can't work both without Baray), 5-6 coast tiles (max size 8-9 fishing village)
+ Add 1 pop to each if a Baray gets built, yay Khmer.
Do I dare?

We are at war!
He has not been whipping so I don't think it's an actual invasion. Just scaring me away.
This, of course, makes the decision to forward settle pretty easy. If I can force a quick peace treaty, I'll grab the pink dot. If not, I can do purple and be OK without a spear for now due to the forest belt.

Well I jinxed it. One day later, they've both declared war on me. AT whipped twice before declaring, maybe this war is more serious.
In any case, if I lose cities in either war, the goal will change from winning the game, to whopping ass with War Elephants.

AT allowed me to go log in to see what happened.
And now I'm even more confused! What's the plan here?
He didn't do anything with the Holkan, and there's no units coming for Polynesian.
Maybe he wants to pillage the road to disconnect Polynesian which he plans to attack (soon?).
I should fire up a galley for transporting units.
Non-malicious possibilities:
Declared war just to port outside my borders after peeking in (minimal gain)
Declared war to force peace for 10T (why, i'm no threat)
Declared war as part of a deal from Charriu (could be, considering the timing)

AT hasn't had a turn yet. I made sure the worker is safe. Now we wait and see what happens next.
Still just 1 chariot from Charriu(t). He didn't take the peace treaty though. I'm settling Purple Dot next turn if still no peace. He might be pushing me out because he's settling the Pink Dot area himself.
Large score increases scared me, but no-one stole it from under my nose. I'm chopping next turn and that'll be enough hammers to complete it.

We got Mathematics! Finally I can turn down research to save gold for the wars.
And we wouldn't want to set a new tech yet anyway, before seeing if we need to beeline War Elephants.
Chops complete. We went some 20+ hammers over. Next turn I can finally breathe. Or be very, very angry.
We settled Mateus on the Charriu front. He wasn't sleeping so no Pink Dot for us, but I'm happy to have two nice fishing villages in the starvation zone.
AT's stack appears. I do wonder if I should just give him the city and save my units.
I think his promoted Axe gets odds on us, the others don't, but are pretty close still. It's 3 axes and 1 holkan vs 2 axes and 1 warrior. Plus I have a worker around.
Decision needs to be made next turn.
Losing a city and having to focus on war over economy has been a considerable setback. Not game ending or anything, but I think we were already trailing behind the leaders.
