War theme:
I feel a little annoyed because it feels like kingmaking to feed cash to the trade route civs and suicide attack me.
But until the game is over, I can't know his intentions. Perhaps he has his reasons.
I'll need to ignore my annoyance and think how much is smart to invest to this war and when to end it.
Side note: Moving to the forest was a tactical mistake. Hill was better, block their way to Gautier, coz I doubt I'll counterattack his stack next turn anyway. But hey, maybe he'll think I will and he stays back

I log in to find out AT took my peace offer with his stack in range of my empty city, and instead I'm in war against Charriu?!
I whipped the round of WE's. Do I even need them anymore?
As I was writing this, I was jokingly thinking of a naval invasion from a random civ. Now I'm actually a little bit scared that Charriu is dropping troops with galleys.
Or he just wants to kill my worker on the border?
Got graphs on Pindicator so here you go.
Big wars out there. Doesn't look like he's losing. Only small drops in power.
E: Pindicator sent me a fish for fish trade last turn, which in code means NAP I believe? Anyway I didn't send anything back because the meta code things are against the spirit of the game.

Hmm maybe my pre-emptive war declaration spooked out AT. Rightly so, he might have gotten the city temporarily, but there was no winning long term with those troops.

It does look like the war was just to steal a worker. In any case I've sent units to the coast to keep an eye on it. Continuing with military builds. We are #3 in Soldiers now.
Turned on tech for Currency (3T).
Not sure what to do with the war. I don't really want to give him the worker for no cost, but I'm not sure if there's anything I can gain. Thought about demanding a resource for peace, but I can't. Was that always the case or is it a CTH change?

Resources can never be included in a peace deal, just gold (or cities but they’re usually banned).

Ty. Must have been Civ5, although weirdly enough it's been even longer since I played that one. These things just blend together!
In game news, I accepted 10T peace treaty with Charriu because I'm a lil b who lets people walk all over him

Or because you have a much better economy and can reach knights long before they can?

Guilds is too far off for just 2 strength increase. It's gotta be soon with Ballista Elephants, or wait longer for cannons/rifles. Same idea behind the latter though!
Charriu does look like the natural target. There's also the chance that someone else goes for him and we can jump in.
I'm still emphasizing military builds, putting together a stack. We'll see how his defenses look when I'm ready.
I gotta say, declaring a war to steal a single worker on T108 is much more insulting than declaring war to capture a city. Even if the loss for us is bigger in the city case. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you're sure you can fight off an invasion.
Power looks better now. Shouldn't be any more surprise raids against us until the ocean opens up. Which btw is a phase I fear a lot.
Canceled our crab for wheat trade as I have my own wheat connected now, but offered this to Mjmd. If he doesn't take it, I can offer the corn too.
I also sent a receipt for our worker to Charriu. Just 3 GPT, very cheap! It's less about the money and more about being curious to see if he wants to try to make amends

Gotta say, the pack is very close for the most part. This is one spicy game.
I turned on research. Going Code of Laws -> Civil Service. If we can pop Confusianism in a border city, that would be excellent.
We also have a Golden Age coming up in 3T. Even if we pop a Great Engineer, I don't think there's any wonder that would help more than a GE. SoZ gets obsolete at Gunpowder in the mod.
E: Noticed on PBSpy that AT was whipping this turn. I know he saw the start of my stack, so probably reacting to that. Charriu has no OB so he won't have the same luxury.

Yeah those are no spears. They are catapults and they are heading my way.
I will stop using this clip when it stops being relevant. Maybe.
So, we're gonna have to whip units again. Still suffering double whip unhappiness in some cities.
At least I've been preparing, so things could be worse. I'll be able to fend him off, but it will further slow me down. I'd rather be building forges, libraries, workers and settlers!
Anyway if I can clean up his stack in my territory, I will then go on the offensive. Giving peace again will just give him a break to build another stack to attack me with.
