We're playing a new game soon with El Grillo joining in. I'll leave the stream up, hasn't really impacted my PC or internet.

When u say noob... do you mean to MP, or to the game in general. because El Grillo rocked both of us
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I had fun playing with Jowy and superdeath today, a FFA on Jebus Cross where I overcame some embarrassing early defeats to turn things around by breaching the middle treasure zone first and farming it thoroughly for about a week before the others caught up. As a result, I was able to defend successfully against a very scary superdeath army and then eliminate Jowy's main force to end the game.

I forgot to take screenshots while playing, but here are some from the end:

Showdown time. The middle treasure zone yielded both the Tome of Earth and Air, along with a lot of other goodies, but letting me finally use Town Portal to gather reinforcements and position flexibly put me over the top.

Re-enactment of fight with superdeath. Despite the numbers looking even, he was unable to breach the walls and close into melee, so I wore him down with spells for minimal losses (all the Cyclops and half my Wolf Raiders). Having Crag Hack with +20 ATK differential and a 250 spell point lead didn't hurt either smile

Aftermath of fight with Jowy. Having conserved my power stacks against superdeath and never letting his Ancient Behemoths hit me, this fight was over in two rounds with Mass Haste.

Wednesday. Evening for EU, earlier in the day for US.

We finished RB2 first. Sloppy play towards the end, but a fun close finish. I'll post video of the fights when it's done.

Next we played a triple threat on Jebus Cross with El Grillo joining in. I was going to post the vod for my side, but I had vod saving turned off. oops. I struggled with Inferno in that one.

RB2 Jowy vs Superdeath on Mini-Nostalgia report 2
(continuation to this: http://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/showt...#pid739404)

I went back to farm the Conflux treasure zone. Meanwhile I finally dug up the grail, and took it to the Conflux town to get all spells in the game unlocked!

Except it did not build the Mage Guild, so when I came back from farming, I had to sit there waiting to build it level by level. On top of that, it only unlocks spells available to that town, so no TP or DD etc.

Those are both HOTA changes. I should have read the complete wiki entry  crazyeye I did however get Resurrection, which came in handy.

Then it came time to break through to Superdeath. Here are two fights from the way there, and the final battle between our mains!

RB3 Jowy vs Superdeath vs El Grillo on Jebus Cross

This was the highlight of my game. Managed to dance around with the Efreeti to kite the dwarves. They were guarding a Forsaken Palace (Inferno t7 creature dwelling).

I was doing alright for an Inferno start, but then I ran out of gold. Badly. And every box I would open was EXP, never gold or creatures. You have so much at the start when you have 8 heroes picking up stuff, but then it dries up.

Slow was the only good spell I had, but no Earth Magic for my main. My alt got it, so I switched and trained him up. Way too late though.

I also got bad rolls on my Mage Guild, then bad re-rolls (HOTA feature, you can pay to reroll your spells, iirc level 4 was 8 of each resource and some gold).

I farmed my zone for a stack of Wyverns and Giants. I had one Devil dwelling, and two Efreeti dwellings really far away. Not enough to make a difference compared to all the Behemoths my opponents were scooping up.

When I did finally break, it was not too difficult. I hesitated too long. I have done MUCH quicker breaks when I practiced Jebus play some years ago. Should be aiming for Week 2 or 3.

Early on you need a side hero to farm the map faster. I had areas I should have been able to farm with side heroes while still clearing the hard creatures with my main.

E: Oh yeah also the north road was blocked by Lizard Warriors (max 49) guarding a refugee camp. I went that way first and couldn't reach the town.

Noob means I know what most creatures do and how the skills work but I will likely play most of the maps for the first time and might even struggle in some of the closer early game fights. Also I still tend to musjudge the strength of certain creatures sometimes.

I will try to keep Wednesday evening free this week
