RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

From Nakor/DMOC's thread (my emphasis):

Nakor Wrote:You guys are right, sorry.

We'll get theo next turn (could get Chem in 1t as well and then Theo the next but not the other way around, is that an option?)

Ordered some rifles as build.

Athlete gifted us 4 workers on Centralia and a LB. Don't know what's going on there.

Where do you want to park our attack force?

Sounds like Athlete is well aware of the beating he is about to take, and is abandoning everything but his core. I don't get why he is gifting away military units though.

I guess you can gift units without the receiving player to agree, while gifting city need a 'diplo' window and possibly HRE might not accept it (be it either against their spirit or not to upset India or not to support the maintenance).

But I agree that a fortified LB might be better defending except if it is to give free XP (what are the chance of CG LB with full bonus and 20% culture vs a C2 cuirassier, probably not more than 30% ) ?

edit : that would be 10.2 vs 14.4, so a very good chance for free XP for Spullla...
(and without CG or full bonus....)

I thought he might try to bring the units to his core from the outlying cities... but perhaps he is not even doing that?

Some funkiness going on in the world, according to CivStats.

Looks like Speaker took 2 athlete cities, and then Athlete gifted 3 cities to DMOC

Thats just not cool.

I'm no expert on reading civ stats but I don't see any increases for DMOC. All I see are Athlete and DMOC whipping/drafting their cities at the same time.

Darkmantle's right, it's "Score decreased" for DMOC, from drafts/whips, not "Score increased". Frankly, the only city that I could've seen athlete wanting to gift would be Dagobah...and it's dead. Take the hammer to athlete!

If Athlete had gifted any of his mainland cities to DMOC to form a buffer, then they would have just declared war on DMOC as well and taken them. As well as reinforcing their southern border.

With DMOC planning to attack Dantski after turn 210 it would seem that the world is again plunged into brutal war. Love it jive

I'm wondering whether India will have sufficiently smashed the Ottomans to be able to intervene on that front too!

Um...uh oh...

Note the first paragraph: Sullla moving his last units at 00:07 on the timer is in violation, as they declared war with 4 hours left.

Krill Wrote:For the purpose of movement, declaring war will count as movement. Once war has been declared, the party declaring war has to finish moving all of their units and end their turn before half of the remaining turn time has elapsed since the declaration of war, or within half an hour, whichever is longer.

In cases where a war declaration occurs and the side declared upon (the declared) still has units to move, the declared may still move these units, and this counts as a move for the purpose of which party gets the SWP in all subsequent turns.
