I'm not going to say the lurker thread was eagerly anticipating this moment, but I won't claim we weren't, either.

I don't really care that we're next to SD. I just don't understand how you can specifically say 15-16 tiles and then end up with 10 tiles.

Does Gavagai even want to play this game?  He is logging in every 50h.

Well A) I've been busy, B) there is little to report, C) we've just been talking about the game in our gchat hangout everyday and I haven't felt the need as much for this thread. BUT now we probably should start reporting in earnest, so here goes.

Let's start with a dotmap overview:

So to start with I hate the map. It's annoyingly placed, we're close to SD so much so that it's kinda fucked with our pick. I mean WTF how small is this map and is everybody starting close to somebody? I would have picked CYRUS OF MONGOLIA if I'd known this shit. I think our current pick pales in comparison given what we now know.

Gaspar put up all the signs last time he was in game. I just didn't delete them.

Anyway, the dotmap is MY attempt at the dotmap it hasn't been fully discussed by all of us as a team. The current plan is to settle the Corn site East of the capital first, then settle the Copper to the NE (ignoring the shitty stone copper plainsland for the moment). Then maybe the pig to set the line against SD. Might need an axe for that.

Scouting this turn was the warrior discovering the fish and plains cow West pf the capital, which is... okay? plains cow is kinda shit not really food and the fish is 2tiles out. It might change our preferred dotmap in that area though.

The scout had found that the south FPs look like they are in a peninsula. I don't know what other neighbors SD has, but I do know HE HASN"T MET THEM BECAUSE HE HASN"T SPENT EPS ON ANYONE BUT US. So either A) he has a big empty land to fill in by himself or B) he's got a neighbor that is far away. I'm betting on a farwaway neighbor with lots of land for him in between.

The only good thing about this scenario is that SD's scout never found our capital and he doesn't know how close we are. He may not even have scouted his north. This means we have an opportunity to settle up on him while he's enamored with his southern lands.

ON THE OTHER HAND, SD probably has his scout south so he's going to send his warrior north to scout that and that means he'll put a warrior on our borders and goddamn it I just realized we need to turn our warrior around and send it to secure our southern border. We can't build another one according to the micro for another 12 turns.

Our tech speed sucks.

We need to move the warrior east starting NEXT TURN. Maybe 4SE then 2NE. We need to cover the workers.

Yes he's moving:

Worker has moved to our first forest now that the deer is camped. We'll start chopping our settler.

I wonder if this is a land bridge or something over here? I'm betting its not. I'm betting we're stuck here with SD and we have to slug it out and I will regret not taking KESHIKS forever.

I don't think there is a land bridge here:

SD still hasn't met anyone else and neither have we.

Noble in chat: 8 players on a map and he managed to give us only two neighbors
one of which is far too close
how could you possibly fuck this up more
inb4 we discover the northeast is a dead end too and he put everyone on two-player continents

I guess to be fair we could have a third neighbor to the northwest.
