[Spoilers - AT PB56] Whipping unhappy faces until El Grillo's morale improves

Glad to have you along Kaiser, though I make no claims to have any non-stupid answers smile

The move inland would only make sense if it revealed quality land food, but again this is superdeath so I would be far less surprised to find some than I would be with say, GKC. The idea would be both to save on the stone hookup and get more land tiles into the capital BFC, and also to delay having to build Workboats for a bit longer, and be able to chop them out when needed.

Alternatively, we pick a FIN leader and just SIP with a Workboat start and work a 5/0/3 tile and be happy to do so.

Naively, square + toroid + curved coastal start = modified donut. Safe bet from a mapmaker perspective since it's been done before, but we also know what to expect as players.

What if instead the fog is a complete lie, we all start on tiny islands, and that silver is our gateway to the mainland? Didn't superdeath mention something about barb subs in the tech thread? scared

I considered playing a new leader or a reworked Civ, why not both? The plan is to get Stonehenge for mini-CRE and use Terraces as mini-EXP to help smooth out the early game, and then have IND/PHI in the wings.

Wuhu somebody is trying the reformed civs. I'm also very curious how the irrigation element plays out for you

So as something of an abstract mathematical exercise while we all wait for the map, I was trying to imagine how superdeath fit 11 players onto a toroid where each player has the same number of neighbors at equal distances. It quickly became messier than I was prepared to figure out myself, so I generated some Torusworld maps at 52x52 with a similar land/water ratio and the results were not pretty, and there still identifiably more isolated positions. I'm very curious how superdeath tackled the problem.

I also set up the sandbox and we have some interesting choices to make that will certainly depend on scouting. I wonder if I'd be brave enough to try a Worker-Worker opening smile

being an odd-player game, it wont be perfect by any means... so go easy on me smile
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

T0:

Civ password is 'goodbye'. City naming theme will be synonyms and translations thereof. Don't expect much, if any, C&D analysis.

Scout move reveals a cow, but that's not enough to convince me to move, especially since we know we want a port on this coast for the silver. Could be a nice spot for a second or third city though. Scout will do the usual loop around the capital to make sure we spot our copper/horse.

I simmed a few openings and have found one that is probably terrible, but lets me test out lumbermills. That's right, we're going to improve 6 tiles before chopping a forest or starting a Settler.

And you know what, let's test all of the changes and go for an early Monarchy to improve those wines and try out early Serfdom. God knows I'll need efficient workers considering how many lumbermills I plan on building.

Was i suppose to add copper/horse to your start?

No worries if you forgot, just ask Ramk to place them in the coast tiles, it'll make the long-term BFC better smile

And also add a flood-plains to that corn right?
