Screenshot taken after the turn rolled. 2nd in food despite being down a city from Lewwyn.. i like it.
Okay basic plan is: I whipped a galley in the capital to ferry the settler im going to whip in G to the Stone/fish/gold island to the west. Immediately chop a granary and whip a monument and ferry over an axe and eventually maybe tech archery to keep that city safe. Next settler will be out of the capital and it will go to the clam/2fur/horse city. Stealing the fish from the capital to quickly whip a granary/monument for its own clam.
Down south, its a bit more messy, but just completing a road to give me more security should someone try and attack my somewhat exposed banana/clam/stone city down there. Also, Found sheep to the north east of G for another decent city somewhere up there. My scout will see if there is anything else up there.
Any questions?

Didnt want to update just yet, but uh.. What is Serdoa thinking?
Sure hope he isnt thinking of taking this city from me. Not when Rusten pinkdotted for that silver/corn/horse city 15tiles or something stupid from his capital.
For those that dont know:
Here is the overview. its 7 tiles from my cap, 8 from his. So roughly equal. While rusten's pink dot was 11tiles or so from his capital and he planted it wayyyyy ahead of that middle city. ( rusten got GREAT city locations due to lakes preventing me from contesting land so close to my capital. If rusten doesnt win this, its because his pink dotting is pissing me off.
Sent Serdoa Open borders then this ^ then open borders again, incase that makes him think a little bit more clearly. Im going to be upto 8 cities next turn and im not super attached to this pb yet to not throw my game at someone who is making dumb decisions.... such as ACCEPTING ONE OF THESE AND SHOWING RUSTEN THAT HE CANT TRUST EITHER OF US. Jesus.
Ill pay for Charriu's next coffee if i open the next turns save and he HASNT accepted this and forced me into war vs rusten. Which i bet he also declares and takes the city... prompting Rusten to throw a couple chariots or something my way, who knows. Gotta remember what the odds of a spear killing a fully fortified hill city warrior.. I can retake the city providing he isnt an ass and razes it with a couple of axes/chariots i can bring down very soon but still..

tied for first/2nd in food.
planted my island city that will eventually grab the gold, and got workers improving every city nicely. ( ignore Xian )
What could possibly....
Oh...
Thats right. For whatever stupid fucking reason.. Serdoa doesnt like MY plant. Doesnt stop him from getting horse, doesnt grab the silver that should have been his( and maybe contested with me.. slightly?) and until IW/Calendar isnt THAT great of a city. So he declared war vs me. Not rusten who is probably about to oracle something really stupid like currency or CoL or SOMETHING. Or Noble, who is running byzantium and should be slowed down as much as possible, but no. He chose me. I really hope he loses that spear attacking my warrior. He will probably get a flawless win and ill have to just dump axes/chariots into his face because he apparently doesnt give Any fucks this game. Which is also apparent when you pick Russia as your civ.
Can i request that he just be replaced? Am i missing something huge? Have i gone insane? Stay tuned.

Lol you sound like PB46 Krill, and not unjustly, this attack is kind of out of nowhere. I am worried about the new island city, it looks like a really easy raze for Lewwyn. I'd almost consider chopping an archer over a granary. If serdoa razes the city (the likely outcome), so be it, take peace and focus on other things. But frankly, Serdoa is acting like an overglorified barbarian civ, and not a good one at that.

Serdoa could have thrown a war for war to me vs EITHER of our 2 neighbors, and it would have been a smarter thing.
I think ill have the galley bring over an axe or something asap, because losing that city would probably tilt me. ( im not tilted yet )
If serdoa razed it, to resettle id be kinda curious. If he captures it, he just makes an enemy for life even if i were to accept peace for now.
I think the chop still goes into a granary, with maybe teching mysticism to whip a monument on the horizon. That gold looks like it "should" be mine, but no food was placed in any good spot for me to grab it anyway, so.. Yeah. Still going to claim as much land as i can, hit currency, go back for maybe archery/HBR depending on how pissed these "vets" make me, and perhaps knock one of them down a few pegs. Surprisingly Noble/gaspar despite being the BEST choice for an attack, have been at least the least hostile. So far. Watch i open the save and see 5 chariots heading towards city G...

Took out the warrior he had moved to where my chariot is now. Re-sent him peace. If he doesnt take it, he will likely attack my chariot with that axe, and my 2 axes can move to the hill NW of the city he took, and unless he had a TON more units coming, those 2 should rather easily take the city from the injured spear. Compared to Rusten my city plant is still within reason. its at the exact midpoint between me and Serdoa, while Rusten FAR overextended ( and serdoa was being a derpy fucking moron and didnt punish HIM for it )
at turn roll i become #1 in power. Having 4 neighbors instead of 2 like NoGas is kinda shitty and wish that the map was...... some how balanced when its so obviously not... but ill keep my griping to myself and just do a classic "well he is superdeath so he cant do eco, just dont tilt him" Hue Hue Hue.
Games like this one, i think badly "prove" my stereotype. Im not some sort of ultra aggressive player, i just cant fathom why Serdoa would want to take this city from me over Rusten's city. Yeah, i defended it with a warrior whoopdiefuckingdo. I didnt claim anything huge, so Serdoa can quite literally fuck off. If he wasnt already lower than me in the player rankings in this game id probably tilt and just end his chances of winning. But he's already so far behind that i would pay for the Ramk/zulan server and this website for a full year if he won this.
Lewwyns galley turned around as well. Whether that was planned, or if he is headed back to pick up a unit to snipe my island city... regardless im going to have a spear in the city in 2t. so he has this turn that i just sent him, and next turn to raze it if that is what he chooses. But if he does, its nothing but units from my cities till he is out of the game/running. This monkey in the middle position sucks.

Speaking of map making in the mod thread, I do feel like the middle people should get something to compensate for lack of safe back lines(this may be PB52 talking) Or design maps better.

imo, if a "middle man" position is impossible to not include in a map... bump their start up a couple notches. An extra metal, more floodplains than jungle.. Not terrible mountain/lake tiles...stuff like that.

On the flip side, on rare occasions the middle person can essentially choose his targets and dominate the map. Commodore in PBEM 64 basically ran away with that game because, although he was in the center of an X-shaped map, he got to push neighbors on every spoke. Probably simpler to just remove middle positions than risk strengthening them.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.
